There’s a new kid in town. The City of Seattle is the recipient of the newest NHL (National Hockey League) expansion team. The team, the 32nd in the league, will begin playing in 2021. The last team added to the league was the Vegas Golden Knights. COOL AS ICE
700,000 – the number of signatures on a petition for the NFL (National Football League) to play the song “Sweet Victory” by SpongeBob SquarePants during halftime to honor the show’s creator who passed away earlier this year. It has been a rough year for Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer who announced his retirement at the end of the season. His illustrious career was marred by illness, a heart condition that forced him to retire from his previous coaching job and now a brain cyst, and controversy earlier this season when one of his coaches was accused of domestic violence. The three-time national champion coach will call one final game when the Buckeyes play in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2019. SO LONG, FAREWELL
