Here's what everyone is talking about at the water cooler today.
Lindsey Vonn hasn’t competed in the Olympics in eight years and yesterday she skied in her best event for the last time, the downhill. It wasn’t the gold she wanted but as the oldest woman to ever win an Alpine medal at the Winter Games, Vonn took home the bronze. A huge accomplishment when you consider the crazy crashes and injuries she’s overcome to get there.
Your love for the gridiron just became more expensive. Direct TV is once again raising its prices for NFL Sunday Ticket to an all-time high of $293.94, with the package that includes Red Zone Channel soaring up to $395.95 for the season. That’s more painful than two beers and a popcorn at an actual football game.
Baseball is known for its leisurely play and long-winded games. The average game last season was three hours and five mins. In our fast-paced world, that’s losing them fans so MLB (Major League Baseball) is implementing new rules this upcoming season to speed up the game. These changes include limiting visits to the pitching mound and reducing inning breaks.
What to watch
Team U.S.A. women’s hockey takes on its northern rival Canada in the gold medal game tonight at 11:10 pm EST and American skiers Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn will both ski in the alpine combined. (The combined is one downhill run and one slalom. Want more on what that means? WATCH).
