If you thought golfer Shane Lowry was nervous leading up to his British Open win, you’d be right but his granny had it worse. In an interview, she said she was so nervous that even though “she hadn’t had a brandy since 2009 and she had two on Sunday.” Lowry may have had a few too many himself because he withdrew from this week’s tournament. Even though they haven’t won a championship in a combined 23 years, the Dallas Cowboys (NFL - National Football League, worth $5 billion) and New York Yankees (MLB - Major League Baseball, worth $4.6 billion) top the Forbes’ annual list of most valuable sports teams. The Cowboys take the top spot for the fourth year in a row. The Yankees are up from fifth last year. Rounding out the top five are Spanish soccer franchises Real Madrid ($4.2 billion) and Barcelona ($4 billion) and the New York Knicks ($4 billion). Of the 50 teams on the list, 26 were NFL teams, nine NBA (National Basketball Association) teams and seven MLB teams. No NHL (National Hockey League) teams made the list. MONEYBALL

Coaches’ corner

The third-oldest stadium in baseball is getting a facelift. Dodger Stadium, which opened in 1962, is undergoing $100 million in renovations ahead of the 2020 MLB All-Star Game. Expect more bars, a new sound system and for the first in the ballpark’s history fans will be able to walk around the entire ballpark from any level. LET’S HOPE THEY’RE USING JANE FONDA’S DOCTOR
