The Last Night's Game Team
NFL (National Football League)
When you’re trying to keep up with the Joneses. This week marked the first week of NFL training camps. Players have started an unofficial challenge of who can arrive to the first day of camp in the coolest mode of transportation. In the parking lot this year, a Slingshot, a decked out scooter with an Auburn colored transport truck and an abundance of sports cars. Not to be outdone, Pittsburgh Steelers' Antonio Brown continued his tradition of trumping everyone and arrived in a helicopter. LAST YEAR’S ROLLS WASN’T ENOUGH
Some MLB (Major League Baseball) teams are getting creative to boost their attendance this season. They may be encouraging their fans to cheer for a loss but the San Diego Padres, who are in last place in their division, are selling a ticket package that allows fans to attend as many games as possible until they see five wins. The Miami Marlins have also seen their attendance yell “Timber,” so they’re hosting 305 night (the city’s area code) on Sunday featuring a bobblehead of Miami’s golden child, Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull. BUT WILL THERE BE FIREBALL?
On Sunday, MLB will welcome the newest members of its Hall of Fame. The inductees include Chipper Jones and Jim Thome, who were both selected the first year their names were on the ballot, Vladamir Guerrero and Trevor Hoffman. Players are selected by active and honorary members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. More than 50,000 fans are expected to see the largest class of inductees in nearly 50 years (six players) enshrined. STANDING IN THE HALL OF FAME
