Two-time Wimbledon champ Andy Murray (tennis) underwent hip resurfacing surgery and was proud to share the experience with his Instagram followers, but they got a little more then they bargained for. In what some call a controversial move, Maroon 5 is skipping out on the traditional Super Bowl press conference and instead releasing behind the scenes footage of their performance. But they did do something good yesterday. Working with their record label and the NFL, they announced a $500,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as part of the NFL's #InspireChange social justice initiative. Performer Travis Scott also worked out a similar deal with the league, donating $500,000 to the social justice non-profit Dream Corps. HELPING WITH THE HIGH NOTES
The most rowdy and drunkest tournament on the PGA (Professional Golfers Association) tour (the fans, not the players) is the Waste Management Open in Scottsdale, AZ. It’s not far off from something you might see in Happy Gilmore. Nike has chosen to embrace the party and came out with the “Lawn Party Pack,” featuring either their “Payday” shoes, which are money colored, or “Green Day” shoes made of artificial turf, all enclosed in a Waste Management-truck replica box.
