College Football

The New Year is kicking off with two of the most important games of the college football season, the college football semifinals. The winners of these two games will meet up in the national championship game on January 8th.

If you’re California dreamin’ on such a winter’s day. The first big game is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA featuring the Oklahoma Sooners (#2) vs Georgia Bulldogs (#3). The dangerous Sooners offense is led by Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and the Bulldogs boast one of the best defenses in the country. Sounds like a perfect recipe for a great game.

When your NY day is anything besides the Big Easy. The later game today is the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans with the Clemson Tigers (#1) against the Alabama Crimson Tide (#4). If this matchup sounds familiar it’s because these two teams have battled it out in the past two national championship games, with each team winning once.

Buffalo Bills (NFL – National Football League) fans braved two degree weather very early this morning to greet their playoff bound team at the airport. Although this no ordinary celebration because for the first time in 18 years, the team is headed to the playoffs. The frostbite was totally worth it because the team broke their streak as the team with the longest active postseason drought in North America's four major professional sports.

Sideline stat

Break out the champagne because the Cleveland Browns (NFL) officially rang in 2018 as losers. That’s right, they couldn’t pull off a win in the last game of the regular season and that solidified their winless season, going 0-16 (wins-losses). It’s only the second time in NFL history that a team has taken home the wrong kind of a perfect season. At least they have a good sense of humor about it. SEE HERE
