Party Ready

Hold onto your hats. It's the last big week of holiday parties, potlucks and celebrations. Spice up the week by talking about something other than the weather or COVID.

F1 (Formula One)

WHAT JUST HAPPENED was trending yesterday after a wild finish to the F1 Championship race. Going into the race, the season points leaders, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were tied, which led to a winner take all race. On the very last lap, Verstappen passed seven-time champion Hamilton to win his very first World Championship. Hamilton's team protested the controversial ending, but it was unsuccessful. HOLY MOLY

PS: If you're at all intrigued by this exciting sport, go and watch the last two minutes of the race. If you want to dive even further, the Netflix series "Drive to Survive" will get you hooked and your life will never be the same.

BEFORE WE GO

Last week the NFL world lost Super Bowl Champion Demaryius Thomas far too soon at 33. His former team, the Denver Broncos, started their game off with ten men on the field in his honor. (Normally, there are 11 players on the field). Their opponent, the Detriot Lions, honored the team's touching tribute by declining the penalty given for the infraction. Thomas passed away last week from a medical issue. GONE TOO SOON
