Earth Day

Kermit the Frog said, "It isn't easy being green," but in sports, lofty goals come true, and rivals unite all in the name of Mother Earth. And not just for Earth Day, which is this Saturday, April 22.

Take, for instance, the National Recycling League. Anheuser-Busch is pulling together its sports team partners in the NFL (National Football League) and MLB (Major League Baseball) to combat the lack of recycling, including the estimated 51M plastic cups used yearly at sporting events. Recycling Hawkers, or volunteers from Keep America Beautiful, are deployed in stadiums to collect cups, cans and bottles to ensure they're recycled properly.

From the world's only vegan soccer team to a stadium that uses rainwater to make the ice for its' NHL team, check out this week's podcast, "Sports Teams Upping Their Game To Save The Planet," for more. LISTEN UP

Short and Sweet

  • What happens when you mix singer Jessie James Decker's sister, her husband, who is a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, United Airlines and popcorn? A mess

  • The Philadephia Eagles Jalen Hurts is now the highest-paid player in NFL (National Football League) history, and he has his all-women management team to thank.

  • Just three months after his tragic collapse from cardiac arrest on the field, Damar Hamlin has been 'fully cleared' to play football (NFL) again.
