Today on Veterans Day we thank the brave members of our armed forces and their families who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Gratefully,

College Football
The college football game that had everyone watching between LSU (#2 last week – now #1) and Alabama (#3 – now #4) lived up to the hype. The two teams battled it out but LSU took home the victory. An Alabama player is blaming President Trump, who attended the game, for their loss. On the other side, LSU’s head coach, Ed Orgeron – who is known for his raspy voice and thick Cajun accent - led a hilarious expletive filled celebration of the biggest win of the year in the Tigers’ locker room. IT’S A WIN IN ANY LANGUAGE
Also, the Minnesota Golden Gophers (#17 - now #6) shocked the college football world by taking out Penn State (#4 - now #9) this weekend. The Gophers are now 9-0. But the best part of their win is the gopher GIFs that took over Twitter afterward. CADDYSHACK CALLING
Overtime
In the spirit of Veterans Day, Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL – National Hockey League) Sidney Crosby did something extra special for Army Specialist and single mom Madeline Malizio. He took away the burden of bus rides to work and school and gave her a new car. He won the car as the NHL All-Star Game MVP and wanted to pay it forward. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
Sideline stat
Last week we talked about Sabrina Ionescu from the Oregon Ducks being the best in college basketball. Well this weekend she proved it. Her college team beat Team U.S.A, which is made up of WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) players, in an exhibition game. They’re only the second college team ever to beat the national team. SIMPLY THE BEST
Coaches’ corner
The Seattle Sounders beat Toronto FC to win their second MLS (Major League Soccer) Championship. The cherry on top was that they won in their home city in front of their fans. VICTORY IS SWEET
What to watch
Dion Waiters of the Miami Heat (NBA - National Basketball Association) is grounded after eating a THC-infused edible on the team plane that lead to a panic attack. He has been suspended for 10 games by the team for the in-flight snack incident. Waiters is serving his second suspension of the season, which started a month ago, and has yet to play in a game.
