Call It What You Want To

It’s a new week full of new opportunities.

Looking at the bright side of Monday,

The Last Night’s Game

College Football

The higher ups at Florida State were so unhappy with the team’s start to the season that they gave head coach Willie Taggart the boot, halfway through the season. Luckily, he has a $20 million buyout to soften the blow. DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT

Overtime

We bet you didn’t know about the super healing powers that a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich holds? Houston Texans (NFL) quarterback Deshaun Watson credits the cult sandwich for healing his injury that he received after being kicked in the eye. BEHOLD THE POWER OF FRIED CHICKEN

Sideline stat

Sports are the highest highs and the lowest lows. Congratulations are in order for Lewis Hamilton. The F1 (Formula One) driver won his sixth championship yesterday at the Circuit of Americas race in Austin, TX. He’s one championship away from the record. And the New England Patriots (NFL – National Football League) are going to need a big hug this morning. They were undefeated so far this season, until they lost to the Baltimore Ravens last night. The San Francisco 49ers are the only undefeated team left in football. BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME

Coaches’ corner

NFL Hall of Fame receiver turned broadcaster, Randy Moss, had quite the travel mix-up that almost caused him to miss his weekly Sunday football show on ESPN. He took a later flight to Bristol, Conn., home of ESPN, so he could catch his son’s game. He dozed off once the pilot told him the flight time and ended up in Bristol, TN…703 miles away from his intended destination. Thanks to the powers of private jets, he made it on time. FREQUENT FLIER MILES

What to watch

The Washington Nationals (MLB – Major League Baseball) had an epic World Series championship parade on Saturday and no one had more fun than shirtless Nats infielder, Brian Dozier. We’ll see if he recovers in time to make it to the White House today. LIVING HIS BEST LIFE

The Nats are headed to the White House but did you know the history of sports teams visiting the oval office? INTERESTING STUFF
