Exactly what you need to join in on the chatter poolside this weekend.
Formula 1
Monaco Grand Prix: Start your Sunday off with the Monaco Grand Prix, an iconic Formula 1 race known for its stunning views, celebrity sightings and challenging track that winds through the streets of Monaco. While Kris Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Cristiano Ronaldo won't be behind the wheel (but watching it from the pits), keep an eye out for the F1 leader, Max Verstappen, as he aims to secure another victory. The seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, currently in fourth place, will also be a driver to watch.
Indy 500
Following the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 takes center stage. Despite a crash during a practice round, Katherine Legge remains the sole female driver competing this year, representing David Letterman's racing team. One unique tradition of the Indy 500 is the milk celebration at the end of the race. Drivers can choose between whole milk, 2% milk, skim milk, or indicate no preference. This year, 28 drivers opted for whole milk, three for 2% and two for skim milk. Look out for actor Adam Driver waving the green flag, and enjoy Jewel's rendition of the national anthem.
Nascar (National Association for stock car auto racing)
On Sunday, buckle up for the Coca-Cola 600, the longest race on NASCAR's schedule, spanning 600 miles. This endurance race is a true test of the drivers' skill, strategy, and stamina.
The French Open
The prestigious French Open commences on Sunday, but this year, it will be without the presence of the 14-time champion, Rafael Nadal. As the tournament unfolds, we can expect fierce competition and exciting matches on the tennis courts.
NBA (National Basketball Association) Playoffs
The Denver Nuggets are eagerly awaiting their opponent in the NBA Finals, while the Miami Heat faced an unexpected setback. After initially leading 3-0 in the series against the Boston Celtics, the Heat now find themselves in a thrilling Game 6 situation. Saturday night's game is sure to be an intense battle, with Miami looking to avoid becoming the first team in NBA playoffs history to lose a series after leading 3-0.
Stanley Cup Playoffs
In the NHL (National Hockey League) Western Conference Finals, the Dallas Stars staved off elimination with an overtime victory against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers have already secured their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals. The hockey world eagerly awaits to see which team will join the Panthers in the ultimate showdown.
