Hello, weekend.
Wemby + Britney Spears
Let's start in Las Vegas, where the number one draft pick, the 7’4” Victor Wembanyama, will make his NBA (National Basketball Association) Summer League debut today for the San Antonio Spurs. His debut is on the heels of a story about his security guard slapping Britney Spears. Apparently, according to Wemby, he was going to a restaurant. It was chaotic. His security told him not to stop no matter what. He kept walking when someone grabbed him from behind, which happened to be Britney Spears. The security guard slapped away her hands.
Wemby said he never saw who it was until later when he realized it was Britney Spears. She said she tapped him on the shoulder and was then assaulted. So more on that story as it continues to develop, but he makes his debut at the Summer League today.
Wimbledon Curfew
In the second round, Andy Murray was playing Stefanos Tsitsipas, and their match had to be suspended because of the Wimbledon curfew. There is an 11 p.m. curfew at Wimbledon. It's out of respect for the people in the local area because Wimbledon is a neighborhood. And officials say they’re concerned about the transportation connection for people getting home safely. So that match will resume on Friday with Andy Murray up two to one.
Sports + Celebrities
Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin threw a huge white party over the weekend, and everybody who was everybody was there, including Tom Brady and Kim Kardashian. They have continued to fuel rumors that they may be a thing. But their reps deny anything between the two; both have people in common and happen to know each other. They are not dating.
It’s time for F1’s (Formula One) British Grand Prix this weekend. Look for Brad Pitt, who will shoot scenes on the racetrack for an upcoming movie.
