1. Taylor Swift Takes Over the Chiefs' Game
The weekend started with a bang as the internet buzzed about Kim Kardashian's video announcing Usher as the Super Bowl halftime headliner. But that quickly took a back seat when Taylor Swift showed up at the Kansas City Chiefs game. Why? The rumor is that she's dating Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce. Taylor was not just a casual spectator; she was seen seated next to Travis's mom, Mama Kelce. Taylor couldn't contain her excitement, chest-bumping fellow fans in the suite after a Chiefs' touchdown and enthusiastically shouting, "Let's F-ing Go!" Looks like Taylor Swift is the Monday story we all needed.
Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted he felt the pressure to throw to Kelce with Swift in the stadium.
2. Coach Prime's Bumpy Ride
Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, had been enjoying a fantastic start to the season with the Colorado Buffaloes, going 3-0. However, their fairy tale story hit a speed bump when they faced off against the Oregon Ducks and lost 42-6. Maybe it was karma after the Buffaloes decided to make themselves at home on the midfield logo at Autzen Stadium by stomping on it during their pregame walkthrough.
3. Dolphins Set the Record Straight
The Miami Dolphins made a statement on Sunday with a ruthless 70-20 victory against the Denver Broncos. Yes, you read that right—70 points! They came just three points shy of breaking the NFL's long-standing record for the most points scored in a single game, set by Washington in 1966.
5. Rapinoe's Farewell Victory
In soccer news, Megan Rapinoe bid farewell to her international career in style. She ended her journey with the United States fittingly with a 2-0 victory in a friendly against South Africa. Rapinoe's final match marked a significant moment, occurring 17 years and 63 days after her international debut on July 23, 2006. Another USWNT veteran, Julie Ertz, also played her last game a few days ago, closing a chapter on a remarkable career.
