On A Cloudy Day

Today is the last day for the next few weeks that you won't have to hear about someone's March Madness bracket.

Hold onto your hat,
The Last Night's Game Team

College basketball

March Madness is upon us with Selection Sunday this weekend. Both the women's and men's brackets will be unveiled on Sunday. How do teams make it to the "big dance?" They can either win their conference championship tournament (aka an automatic bid) or have a regular season so outstanding that the committee* selects their team. GAME ON

*The twelve-member basketball selection committee is made up of athletic directors and conference commissioners throughout Division I men's and women's athletics with separate committees for the men's and women's tournaments.

Short and Sweet

  • The Sunday World Baseball Classic game between Mexico and the United States is sold out. It is one of North America's most highly anticipated sporting events this year.

  • The highly anticipated Players Championship (PGA - Professional Golfers Association) is in full swing. Defending champion Cam Smith will not be present since he joined the LIV Golf League. Instead, he's in Mexico fishing.

  • Tiger Woods is being sued by his ex-girlfriend for $30M after locking her out of their house after their breakup. She also asked the court to void a non-disclosure agreement she signed when they first began dating in 2017. She cited a law that allows NDAs to be nullified in cases of sexual assault.

  • WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) is in talks over legalized betting on scripted match results.

Before We Go

Happening now - the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. Indian Wells is one of the top tournaments in the United States. Still, it began without top-seeded Novak Djokovic after his application for a COVID-19 vaccine waiver to enter the U.S. failed. MISSING YOU
