There's A First Time For Everything
The Final Four is set, Ron Burgundy takes the field and a dino disaster.
The first Monday of the month is an ideal time to drum up a conversation.

College Basketball
The Final Four teams in the NCAA College Basketball March Madness tournament are set. Both Auburn and Texas Tech are heading to their first Final Four in school history. The head coach of Virginia is making his first trip to the Final Four and Michigan State, well…welcome back. The games will take place on Saturday. YOU’LL NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST
Overtime
San Diego is the home of the Padres (MLB – Major League Baseball) and of course, Ron Burgundy. The Padres paid tribute to the Channel 4 news team from the movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy in their new mascot race. Yes, the large headed versions of Ron Burgundy, Champ Kind, Brian Fantana and Brick Tamland raced around the track with Mr, Burgundy taking home the win in the inaugural race. SIXTY PERCENT OF THE TIME, IT WORKS EVERY TIME

Olympian Michael Phelps and his wife, Nicole, announced they're expecting their third child. Baby No. 3 will join siblings Boomer, 2 and Beckett, 1. MAKE YOUR OWN SWIM TEAM
Coaches’ corner
A dinosaur throwing out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers (MLB) game went exactly as you’d imagine. Short arms aren’t exactly ideal for throwing a strike across the plate either, although a dino can dream. THAT’S EMBARRASSING

COLLEGE FOOTBALL
And you thought you had a Sunday Funday. Yesterday, we found out which four college football teams will be playing in the semifinal games on New Year's Day. If you want to sound in the know, the controversy around the playoffs is that Alabama was chosen over Ohio State, even though they had a weaker schedule and didn't win their conference. Here's more on that discussion.
When someone asks for your number. A Georgia fan tackled their playoff opponent Oklahoma by sending out the phone number of Oklahoma’s quarterback, Baker Mayfield. Mayfield changed his number and then gave props to the Georgia fans for all their creative text messages. And you thought your Tinder messages were tough to read.
OVERTIME
HGTV star Chip Gaines is going to need a different type of Fixer Upper after being leveled on the sidelines of a Baylor basketball game. Don't fret because immediately after the tackle, he stood up, waved to the crowd and received a bigger cheer than the basketball team did all night.
SIDELINE STAT
Who said you have to don a helmet and cleats to be on ESPN? The Southern College Cornhole Championships took place this weekend and the competition was as fierce as a fraternity tailgate party. The team from Arkansas took home the championship, $4,000 in prize money and the bragging rights, because chicks dig throwing bags. Don't know what cornhole is? We'll explain.
COACHES’ CORNER
Being the head coach of the New York Yankees (MLB - Major League Baseball) is a high-pressure job that requires a stellar coaching resume. Until now. The Yankees hired former player and current broadcaster Aaron Boone as their head coach. It’s back into the pinstripes for the former Yankee player and not the kind that includes handcuffs. Well, maybe not literally.
The Rundown: When I Met You In The Summer
Summer is here and it’s no more evident than in sports. From weddings to awaiting the announcement of the NBA (National Basketball Association) League MVP to figuring out why blondes have more fun, we have all you need to know to start a conversation with a tan stranger on a beach blanket.
Will you put sunscreen on my back?

College Baseball World Series
- Do I know you? The final series in the College Baseball World Series begins tonight. The LSU Tigers (Louisiana State University) will face the University of Florida Gators in the best-of-three series to determine the national champion. These two teams are familiar foes as they play together in the SEC (Southeastern Conference) and shared a regular season title.
- Blondes have more fun. Baseball players are known for being superstitious and LSU player Kramer Robertson is no exception to the rule. He dyed his hair blonde after a previous loss in the tournament and they’re now playing in the finals. Much to the distain of his mother, Baylor University’s women’s basketball coach, he plans on keeping his good luck charm lightened locks. Whatever floats your boat.
MLB (Major League Baseball)
- What no puffy shirt? Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger has continued his home run hot streak, hitting two more on Sunday (yes in one game). Even more impressive (or frightening) than his record-breaking home run streak? He doesn’t know who Jerry Seinfeld is. Apparently, he’s never met Kramer (above) either.
Overtime
- Sports reporter extraordinaire and Dancing With The Stars host, Erin Andrews married hockey player Jarret Stoll this weekend in Montana. The two were introduced by a mutual friend, former NFL (National Football League) player and morning show host, Michael Strahan. See all the pics.
Sideline stat
- Miami Marlins Ichiro Suzuki must have found the fountain of youth. He made history on Sunday, becoming the oldest player (43) to start a game in centerfield, breaking Ricky Henderson’s previous record.
Coaches’ corner
- Sports and music always seem to collide and that’s the case in the “Big 3,” a three-on-three basketball tournament started by rapper Ice Cube. The games have no time limit, the first team to 60 points wins. The players and coaches include former NBA (National Basketball Association) legends like Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Allen Iverson.
You can catch the games on Fox Sports 1 on Mondays for the next eight weeks.
