1. Driven to create change, Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union both have careers full of accolades but that’s not what landed them on this list. Their kids’ moments of bravery is what drove them to push for change. The actress and best-selling author and her husband, three-time NBA champion and Olympic superstar supported their daughter Zaya, 13, in her journey earlier this year as she came out as transgender. 2. Tennis greats Steffi Graff and Andre Agassi started dating after the French Open in 1999 but their story goes back years before that. In 1992 both Graff and Agassi (who tried to pick up Graff the year before at the French Open) were winners at Wimbledon. It used to be tradition for the two winners of Wimbledon to dance with each other at the Wimbledon Champions’ Ball. But as luck would have it, that was the year they decided to cancel the dance due to “lukewarm receptions from modern players.” It all worked out in the end as the two married in 2001 and are still together. 3. We’re all for bad pickup lines and they’re even better when they work. After a very public relationship with golfer Tiger Woods, skier Lindsey Vonn was introduced to NHL (National Hockey League) player P.K. Subban at the ESPYs. It was at that event that he told a reporter "It's hotter outside than Lindsey Vonn looks today, which is pretty hot." Well, the line worked. The two, who started dating in 2018, were engaged in the summer of 2019. The couple’s passion for each other and their charitable efforts are something to admire. HEART EMOJI

4. Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe are the unofficial first couple of women’s sports. The two have been dating since 2016 and are a fixture in the Seattle sports scene. They’ve been featured on the cover of InStyle Magazine and were the first same-sex couple to grace the cover of ESPN’s Body Issue. The outspoken and seriously fashionable duo seem to have it all including a plethora of championships and safety deposit boxes for all their gold medals. They also have each other’s backs. During the Women’s World Cup, Bird, who plays in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association), came to Rapinoe’s defense in her battle with President Trump, penning an essay titled “So the President F—ing Hates My Girlfriend.” ROM-COM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT

5. Together Julie and Zach Ertz have a Super Bowl championship, two World Cup victories and what do they have to prove it? A Visa commercial. The Philadelphia Eagles tight end (NFL) and the soccer star met at a Stanford baseball game in 2012 when he offered her sunflower seeds. They had their first date was at Chipotle and the rest is history. Married since 2017, together they too have bared it all for ESPN’s Body Issue. With both of them being at the pinnacles of their careers, they live the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” They say they’re lucky to have three months a year in the same city. 1. The iconic Indianapolis 500 is always a big celebrity draw. For the third time in her career, Kelly Clarkson will sing the national anthem and Christian Bale and Matt Damon will wave the green start flag. The two actors are using this huge honor to promote their upcoming film based on the 1966 24-hour Le Mans endurance race. (Different kind of car racing, but it’s still racing). 2. Because life’s too short to have a boring race car. The car for Indiana native Conor Daly, who you might recognize from “Amazing Race,” will be painted to look like an Air Force fighter jet. COPS CAN’T CATCH HIM

3. He starts your mornings off right, so he seemed the logical choice to start the race. Al Roker from “The Today Show” had been pegged to drive the pace car but a last-minute conflict changed his plans. Stepping in is a guy who knows a little about racing, retired NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt will take a break from his broadcasting gig to spin around the track. 4. Joining Earnhardt in the broadcast booth is the first woman to ever lead a lap at the Indy 500, Danica Patrick. Patrick retired from her career in racing last year and has driven both in IndyCar and NASCAR. Another gal to keep an eye on is Pippa Mann, the only female driver in the race. ON THE FAST TRACK

5. Move over Gatorade, milk is the drink of the winners at International Motor Speedway. The tradition that involves the winner swigging milk began in 1936 with Louis Meyer, whose go to drink after a win was a refreshing glass of milk. When it’s good to see an old friend. We may have seen this matchup before (or for the fourth time in a row) but the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors did not disappoint in game one of the NBA finals last night. LeBron James had a record night, setting his team up for the win. In the last seconds, the Cavs' J.R. Smith thought his team was winning when they were tied and held the ball, sending the game into overtime. The Cavs eventually lost in overtime. GAME NOTES

When you're trying to be a trendsetter. If you thought the internet was hard on J.R. Smith for his late game blunder (see above), they were equally as harsh on King James, who arrived to the game in a suit jacket with shorts combo. That’s a whole lot of leg. PICS

Overtime

Some of football’s best (NFL – National Football League) now have new titles to put on the back of their jerseys – M.D. Both Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers (also dating Danica Patrick) and Houston Texans' J.J. Watt were awarded with honorary doctorates this week at separate college graduation ceremonies. Dr. Watt also gave a passionate commencement speech about what he learned from Hurricane Harvey, encouraging the grads to “be the positive light to make the world an even better place.” SPEECH

What were you doing at age 14? Chances are none of us were spelling “koinonia." That’s the word 14-year-old Karthik Nemmani spelled correctly to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee last night.  An underdog at an early age, Nemmani didn’t win at the county or regional level, but a wild card program allowed him to compete for the national title. The Vegas Golden Knights (NHL - National Hockey League) head to Washington, D.C. on Saturday night to face the Washington Capitals with the Stanley Cup finals series tied 1-1.
