Wedding bells are ringing in the Houston Astros locker room. Shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to his former beauty queen girlfriend on the field after their World Series win. Not to be outdone, pitcher Justin Verlander will wed model Kate Upton this weekend in Italy. He’s skipping the championship parade for the wedding. In his defense, he was playing with the Detroit Tigers, who weren’t World Series bound, when they planned their nuptials.

Major NFL (National Football League) sponsor Papa John’s has blamed declining sales on the player protests, saying the lack of NFL leadership has hurt their shareholders. Their pizza making competition disputes those claims saying their sales are up. Even DiGiorno Pizza jumped in on the action with this catty tweet. Let the cheese wars begin.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was on a historic pace for a rookie. You may remember earlier in the season when Watson donated his first NFL paycheck to three stadium employees whose lives were devastated by Hurricane Harvey. There has been fierce backlash for dissing the sports talking woman. He has since been dropped by a major sponsor and released an apology video.

It’s the playoffs baby. Pitcher Justin Verlander (fiancé is actress and model Kate Upton) pitched the Houston Astros to a game one win over the Boston Red Sox in the playoffs. While you pretend to work, there are four playoff baseball games on today starting at 2 pm (EST). SCHEDULE AND RESULTS.

If the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight taught us anything, it’s that the money is in the ring. Maybe that’s the motivation for former boxer and grill creator, George Foreman, who challenged martial arts expert turned actor turned law enforcement, Steven Seagal, to a boxing match. What’s next? Hail to the Chief. The Presidents Cup lived up to its name with visits from former presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama. President Trump was there to present the trophy to Team U.S.A. who took home their seventh tournament win in a row.
You want fries with that shake? The crowds at the Presidents Cup were in a festive mood and they came up with songs to taunt with the opposing players. There was one song about Si Woo Kim, that no golfer is soon to forget. Listen here.

Under the cloak of darkness, former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL player O.J. Simpson, was released from jail early Sunday morning. Simpson, who enjoyed McDonald’s as his first meal as a free man, will ride out his parole living in Las Vegas.

In college football, big schools (ex. LSU – Louisiana State University) pay small schools (ex. Troy University) to play them so they can get an easy win. In this case Troy didn’t get the memo. They went into LSU, beat them on homecoming and boasted about their win and their payday ($985,000) on Twitter.

The teams play one game to see who advances to the post season. There are two wild card teams that advance to the playoffs per league (American and National League).
