The Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather boxing match ended in a way no one expected - with a draw. Mayweather, who is regarded as one of the best boxers of all time, complemented Paul, saying he was better than he thought. You might be wondering why the two agreed to fight anyway, and it seems the answer has a lot to do with money. Mayweather said, "I can fight a fighter right now, and I can guarantee myself $35 million, or me and Logan Paul, a YouTuber, we can go out and entertain and have fun and make nine figures. $100 million or more." Is there anything she can’t do? A few weeks ago, Simone Biles performed the most dangerous vault – the Yurchenko double pike vault – that no female gymnast has dared to try in competition. Yesterday she claimed her seventh U. S. Championship title – the most victories for a woman. Next up are the Olympic trials at the end of the month. Two top scorers at the trial will earn a spot on the Olympic team, and a selection committee will choose the remaining two. SUPER HUMAN

Just as the world is opening up again, the doors closed for golfer Jon Rahm. Rahm had a significant lead heading into the final round at the Memorial Tournament (PGA – Professional Golfers Association) only to find out on live television that he had tested positive for COVID. He had to forgo the potential victory and the $1.6 million in prize money. OUCH

Canada might change their mind after the last story, but they’re opening up their borders amidst the Stanley Cup playoffs (NHL – National Hockey League). Now they’re allowing teams to cross the border to play in the next round of the playoffs. This allows for Canadian teams in the playoffs to potentially host a home game. It’s been a wild week at the French Open (tennis). First, Naomi Osaka drops out, and now Serena Williams is out (lost in the fourth round), and so is Roger Federer (knee). When it’s good to see an old friend. We may have seen this matchup before (or for the fourth time in a row) but the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors did not disappoint in game one of the NBA finals last night. LeBron James had a record night, setting his team up for the win. In the last seconds, the Cavs' J.R. Smith thought his team was winning when they were tied and held the ball, sending the game into overtime. The Cavs eventually lost in overtime. GAME NOTES

Some of football’s best (NFL – National Football League) now have new titles to put on the back of their jerseys – M.D. Both Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers (also dating Danica Patrick) and Houston Texans' J.J. Watt were awarded with honorary doctorates this week at separate college graduation ceremonies. Dr. Watt also gave a passionate commencement speech about what he learned from Hurricane Harvey, encouraging the grads to “be the positive light to make the world an even better place.” SPEECH

What were you doing at age 14? Chances are none of us were spelling “koinonia." That’s the word 14-year-old Karthik Nemmani spelled correctly to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee last night. An underdog at an early age, Nemmani didn’t win at the county or regional level, but a wild card program allowed him to compete for the national title. 5 Reasons You Should Get Excited About The NBA and NHL Finals
1. If you’re having déjà vu over the NBA (National Basketball Association) finals, you're not the only one. This is the fourth straight meeting of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors in the finals, with the Warriors taking home two championships to the Cavs one. HISTORY
2. Here’s something you don’t hear often, LeBron James and his Cavs are the clear underdogs (especially at the sportsbooks). James is the only Cavs player to play in all four matchups against the Warriors and is playing in his eighth consecutive finals. Think about what you were doing in 2010 (it wasn’t playing on Instagram because it hasn’t been invented yet). That was the last time James was not in the NBA finals.
3. While the NBA finals are a matchup of familiar foes, the battle for the Stanley Cup (NHL – National Hockey League) is the most unlikely scenario featuring the Vegas Golden Knights, in their first year as an expansion team, and the Washington Capitals, who have never won the cup and haven’t been in the finals in 20 years. 4. The pregame ceremony before a Golden Knights game is pure Vegas-style and is a must see. Not only is it a who’s who of celebrities but anything can happen and it does during the pregame on the ice. (A live tiger, fire or Lil Jon? No problem). 5. The Golden Knights are the first expansion team to reach the finals in 40 years.
