The tides keep shifting for next season with big moves from the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers (to name a few) and now the Rockets. There’s no telling what could happen next season. The off-season workout routine for Josh Norman of the Washington Redskins (NFL – National Football League) is a little more ballsy than most. Not sure how this doesn’t violate the “things you shouldn’t do so you don’t hurt yourself too badly” clause in his contract, but watch Norman run with (and hurdle) the bulls in Pamplona, Spain this week. Rufus the Hawk is going to be very busy protecting the skies over Wimbledon this weekend. First the “Big 3” - Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are playing in the semifinals today. Serena Williams will play Simona Halep in the women’s singles finals on Saturday. If Williams wins, she will tie the all-time record for the most Grand Slam titles at 24. (There are four major tournaments that qualify as “Grand Slams” in tennis. Wimbledon is one of them). WILL THERE BE ANOTHER ROYALS SIGHTING?

Because why not? Robot umpires debuted at the Minor League Baseball All-Star Game this week. The robotic system is thought to speed up the game because there will be a consistent strike zone so players won’t waste time arguing balls and strikes. Imagine all of the carefully choreographed heckling that is now going to fall on deaf (or no) ears. WHAT’S NEXT? A ROBOT BEER VENDOR ROAMING THE STANDS?

When the unthinkable happens. The Washington Capitals are NHL Champions. The team, which capitalized on a 3-1 lead in the series against the Vegas Golden Knights, hoisted the Stanley Cup last night for the first time in franchise history. The playoff MVP and one of hockey’s best Alex Ovechkin, helped break the 44-year curse for the Washington, D.C. franchise. MAKING HISTORY

Things are looking rosy for the nation’s capital. Not only did the city win its first Stanley Cup but now the Washington Nationals (MLB – Major League Baseball) are celebrating tomorrow’s National Rosé Day in a big way. They’ll be serving frosé (of course) at a pop-up rosé garden. Fans can also buy tickets in the special “Rosé All Gameday” section and receive a can of rosé with their ticket purchase. CHEERS TO THAT

In case you needed another reason to don a big hat and drink rosé tomorrow, Justify will take the track at the Belmont Stakes hoping to become the lucky 13th winner of the rarest feat in sports, the Triple Crown. He would be only the second horse to win the Triple Crown in 40 years. (American Pharaoh won in 2015). GO PONIES GO!

Golden State Warriors fans are about to go loco and it’s not only because their team is one win away from winning another NBA (National Basketball Association) championship. Thanks to the Warriors win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road earlier this week, everyone in America will get free Doritos Locos Tacos from Taco Bell on June 13th. Last year’s U.S. Open Champion, American Sloane Stephens, is eying a win at yet another grand slam tournament, the French Open. She will take on #1 world ranked Simona Halep tomorrow for the French Open title. (The men's final will take place on Sunday with the semifinals being played today. - Home ice advantage is real. The Pittsburgh Penguins won game five of the Stanley Cup Finals, shutting out Mr. Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher, and his Nashville Predators. With that win they take the lead in the series in which home teams have won every game. You better believe that Nashville will be rocking on Sunday for game six but which superstar will sing the national anthem? Stay tuned.
Belmont Stakes
- An eye on the prize. The third race of the Triple Crown is on Saturday. Kentucky Derby winner, Always Dreaming and Preakness Stakes winner, Cloud Computing will not be participating in the Belmont Stakes. With Horsey McHorseface not eligible to race, everyone’s cheering for their favorite one-eyed horse, Patch, to bring home the victory.

- Simona Halep (ranked #4 in the world) is in position to win her first grand slam tournament at the French Open on Saturday. What’s the key to her success on a clay court? Chocolate and specifically chocolate mousse, sometimes twice a day. A girl after our own hearts.

- The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers play again tonight in game four of the NBA Finals (National Basketball Association). The Warriors are one win away from sweeping the series, going undefeated in the playoffs.
We’ve talked previously about a sweep (when one team wins a series without any losses) but how much it would cost the Warriors to not play all seven games of the Finals series? The answer? $22 million. This hefty number takes into account ticket sales, average merchandise and concession sales and parking.
