The PGA (Professional Golfers Association) Championship tournament is the talk of the weekend. It’s the second major tournament of the PGA season. While the tournament is a big deal, what’s an even bigger deal is what Barstool Sports Is doing for the college women golfers. After the NCAA cancelled their championship tournament seemingly without any valid reason, Barstool Sports stepped in to put together a championship tournament in a week. The “Let them play” tournament featuring 10 teams vying for the championship began yesterday in Phoenix, AZ. BOLD MOVES

This is the craziest story that we couldn’t make up if we tried. In November, the world mourned when the international superstar and Argentinean soccer legend Diego Maradona, 60, died following brain surgery. This week his team of medical professionals was charged with homicide in his death. The medical board found that his medical team acted in an "inappropriate, deficient and reckless manner." OY VEY

The Buffalo Bills (NFL - National Football League) are pushing through the glass ceiling. The team hired a new offensive assistant Sophia Lewin. United front. On Friday, President Trump called for teams to fire any “S.O.B." who kneels during the anthem. The comments drove players, coaches and owners to stand united during yesterday’s games. Players from all teams that competed Sunday participated in some form of protest, with many standing arm-in-arm in solidarity on the sideline during the anthem.
MLB (Major League Baseball)
Family ties. For the first time in baseball history, a son pitched against his father’s team. Cincinnati Reds pitcher Luke Farrell took on his dad’s Boston Red Sox. Even though they were rivals on the field, his dad beamed with pride from the dugout.

The 10-time all-star Carmelo Anthony is slipping into a new jersey for the upcoming NBA (National Basketball Association) season. Once the face of the New York Knicks, Anthony is the newest addition to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He will play alongside superstars Russell Westbrook and Paul George but will his fashionable gal, LaLa Anthony, make the move to the Sooner state too?

What would you do with $10 million? Yesterday that dream became a reality to golfer Justin Thomas. The 24-year-old won the FedExCup Championship, along with the sweet trophy and the hefty cash prize. (FYI – the FedExCup is akin to the Super Bowl or World Series for the PGA – Professional Golfers Association).

The tradition of championship teams visiting the White House goes back to 1865 but the NBA Champs, the Golden State Warriors, are no longer invited. Their invitation to visit was rescinded by the White House over the weekend after many of the team’s players said they would not attend. Want more on the tradition of White House visits? - Role models. For the first time, the little leagues will get a taste of the big leagues on Sunday when the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates play at Williamsport, PA, home of the Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS). The LLBWS is in full swing and features teams that have traveled from all over the world to compete.

- Speaking out. Choosing not to stand for the national anthem is still very much a hot topic in the NFL with many players joining the protest to speak out against injustice after the events in Charlottesville, VA. The players hope the protest, started by former San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick last season, will lead to progress for equality. Here’s a more in depth look.

- The U.S.A will take on Europe in the LPGA’s (Ladies Professional Golfers Association) Solheim Cup starting today in Iowa. The players from Team U.S.A. hope to utilize home field advantage and win back-to-back cups. If all else fails, Michelle Wie (Team U.S.A. star) will blind her opponents with her sweet bedazzled cleats.

- One – The number of games the highly anticipated Chick-fil-A in the brand-new Atlanta Falcons stadium will be open for business. The company will adhere to its policy of not being open on Sundays, despite being at an NFL stadium that has seven of its eight games on Sunday.
Former Top Chef contestant Kevin Gillespie pays homage to Chick-fil-A with his Closed on Sundays chicken sandwich, which will be served from his stand in the stadium to satisfy fans' need for poultry.
Coaches’ corner
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) offensive line went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and told the two rookies they were in charge of picking up the tab, per tradition. When the bill arrived, it was $26,000. Luckily for the two panicking rookies, it was a joke and the real bill was "only" $3,000, which their teammates paid for.
What’s the role of the offensive line? They’re the big guys who protect the quarterback and clearly can eat.
