A pearl necklace dominates the playoffs, the MVP grandma with a potty mouth and the stars are showing up for the WNBA Finals.
We get it – not everyone wants to talk sports, nor should you have to. But there’s something nice about being able to grab your seat at the table and join in and then watch the jaws drop as they admire your brilliance.
You bad*ss you,

WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association)
The WNBA Finals are basketball worth watching. These ladies are playing some seriously fantastic basketball with the series tied up 1-1 between the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury. During the last game in Phoenix, the teams had star-studded courtside support from the Phoenix Suns (NBA - National Basketball Association), including Devin Booker (Mr. Kendall Jenner) and Chris Paul. The series heads back to Chicago tonight where they’ll play in front of a sold-out crowd. BRING IT ON

Joc Pederson has been having a stellar postseason, and it's all thanks to his pearl necklace. Yes, the Atlanta Braves (MLB - Major League Baseball) outfielder has been wearing a pearl necklace during the games. Why? He hasn't given a straight answer, but his latest answer of "he's a bad b—" is good enough for us. The Braves will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the next round of the playoffs Saturday night. YOU SO FANCY

The life of an NFL (National Football League) quarterback isn't all touchdowns and celebrations. It involves beatdowns and direct hits. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a throat contusion last week and is on voice rest to prepare for this weekend's game. The good news is the Bengals are playing the 0-5 Detroit Lions this weekend. ADELE <--> JOE BURROW

The NFL is London bound, why they’re saying “butter my popcorn” in Arkansas and the homecoming that was ruined.
Not that being good at small talk is a competition. But if it were, you’d be a gold medalist.
You make it look so easy,

PS – Thanks to those of you who caught our MLB wild card error on Wednesday. While the Yankees fans were happy with us, the Red Sox fans, not so much.

A major export from the US this weekend is American football players as the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets head to London to play the first international NFL game in two years. Both teams are 1-3, so it’s bound to be a barn burner. SAY HI TO TED LASSO FOR US

To start the season, the Chicago Bears (NFL – National Football League) quarterback situation has been more unstable than former QB Jay Cutler’s love life. This week, the team finally named rookie Justin Fields their starting quarterback. To celebrate, he watched game film while sending his parents out on the town to party it up for him. PROUD PARENTS

The Las Vegas Aces ruined the homecoming party for the Phoenix Mercury in game four of the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) playoffs. The two will take the court again tonight for a decisive game five in Las Vegas. The winner will meet the Chicago Sky, led by super mom and hometown hero Candace Parker in the finals. Last week, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin may have jinxed his team telling fans to “get your popcorn ready” (for a great matchup) against Alabama - a game they lost 42-21. This week Ole Miss is having a little fun at Kiffin’s expense, offering free popcorn to the first 5,000 fans. BUT WILL THERE BE BUTTER?

This season's Super Bowl halftime show is a millennial's dream come true. Yesterday, the NFL announced that Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. The Phoenix Mercury (WNBA - Women's National Basketball Association) are getting kicked out of their house ahead of Sunday's game three in their playoff series against the Las Vegas Aces. Last week the team was forced to seek another place to play because of a concert. The team has is forced out because the arena is hosting Disney On Ice instead. Surely, Minnie disapproves of sending six all-stars to play a professional league playoff game at a university basketball arena. HOW ABOUT A LITTLE RESPECT?

You’ve read the headlines about the drama surrounding the NBA’s (National Basketball Association) goal to get the entire league vaccinated. Players like LeBron James got it, and others like Kyrie Irving don’t want it. Irving is in an interesting conundrum as players who play on teams based in San Francisco (Golden State Warriors), and New York (Nets and Knicks) must be vaccinated to play in their home arenas. Visiting teams are exempt. The NBA said they will not pay players for missed games if they “elect not to comply with local vaccination mandates.” The NBA said that more than 90% of its players had received the COVID vaccine. ARMED FOR BATTLE
*For reference, the WNBA is 99% vaccinated and the NFL is 93%.

Tom Brady heads back to his old stomping grounds on Sunday when his defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) take on former head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Brady has played down his return, especially after his dad's comments that he thought Tom felt "vindicated," leaving the Patriots and winning a Super Bowl with the Bucs. Brady's comedic response to his dad's comments included how his dad should know better at this point in his life, and Tom Jr. reserves the right to put him in a home against his will.
