What's Next?

Madonna, Kanye and Antonio Brown dine together, why one QB is considering the little blue pill for the NFL Playoffs and this week's Tailgate Treat.

Hang on, this weekend is going to be a wild ride.

Unpredictable and exciting,
The Last Night's Game Team

NFL (National Football League)

IThe San Francisco 49ers - Dallas Cowboys rivalry runs deep, well, since the 90s. The two will face-off in one of the NFL Super Wild Card Weekend games. The 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, who was 15-years-old at the height of the clash, said his players don't likely understand the 30-year-old rivalry because they don't even get his "Wedding Crashers" references. "MAKE ME A BICYCLE CLOWN"

You won't have to fight your kids for the remote as this game will be shown on Nickelodeon (and CBS), featuring slime graphics and all.

Short and Sweet

  • The weather at the Buffalo Bills - New England Patriots game is expected to hit a balmy zero. Former NFL player and ESPN analyst Bart Scott suggested that the Bills QB Josh Allen utilizes the infamous blue pill to stay warm.

  • Madonna, Floyd Mayweather (boxing), Antonio Brown (NFL) and Kanye West go to dinner, and no, it's not the start of a joke.

  • There will be six games starting with late Saturday afternoon through Monday night so be prepared to leave a dent in your couch with all of the great football this weekend.

  • Emotional eating or a celebration? New York Giants (NFL) head coach orders mass amounts of pizza and beer after being fired.

Before We Go

Don't look now, but Novak Djokovic's Australian visa has been denied for a second time, putting his start at the Australian Open in jeopardy. The No. 1 ranked Djokovic's lawyers will battle it out over the weekend, but the tournament begins on Monday. Everyone at the Australian Open, including players, their support teams and spectators, must be vaccinated. Djokovic is not vaccinated and had sought a medical exemption on the grounds that he had COVID in December. WAIT AND SEE

On A Need To Know Basis

Ryan Reynolds steps up to support one of his players, how clowns, yes clowns, might impact the NFL playoff scenario and this week's Tailgate Treat.

We like our emails like we like our coffee, short and sweet.

The right touch,
The Last Night's Game Team

NFL (National Football League)

It's the last week of the regular season in the NFL, and the playoff scenarios are complicated enough to make the biggest football fan's head spin. Here's what you need to know to talk shop. The Steelers, Chargers and Raiders' fan bases are cheering for the lowly Jaguars to beat the Colts. Fans at the Jags game will be wearing clown costumes to protest their team's owner. NOT CREEPY AT ALL

Before We Go

Wrexham FC (soccer) owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, along with Blake Lively, made a significant donation to a charity fundraiser in memory of the baby of one of their players. Footballer Jordan Davies and his partner, Kelsey Edwards, announced that their baby was stillborn in December. Their GoFundMe page is raising money for Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society), which the couple credits for helping them with their loss. HEARTBREAKING

Make Way For 2022

Patience? What patience? College football playoffs are today, sad news for dog show fans and this week's Tailgate Treat.

Let this year be the year you go after progress over perfection and relish in every victory you make along the way to your goals, however bold they may be.

Brilliance starts here,
The Last Night's Game Team

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

College football saved the best for last, the last day of the year, that is. Today features the two college football playoff games - Alabama (No. 1) vs. Cincinnati (No. 4) and Georgia (No. 3) vs. Michigan (No. 2). The teams are playing for a spot in the National Championship Game on January 10.

When asked if the youth of Nick Saban's Alabama team tests his patience, the seven-time championship coach responded with, "I don't have any patience, so anything that happens is a test of my patience, including sitting in this chair right now." NEW YEAR NEW YOU?

Before We Go

Do you love hockey and being cold? If so, the annual NHL (National Hockey League) Winter Classic game is for you. If the forecast holds, the New Year's Day game will boast the title of the coldest game in league history with a high of -3 and a low of -9. The game, traditionally held outdoors, will be played at Target Field, home of the Minneapolis Twins. BRR!

Tailgate Treat

This week's Tailgate Treat, prosecco grapes, combines the Spanish tradition of 12 grapes in the first 12 seconds of the new year with the American tradition of a champagne toast. GRAPES FOR GOOD
