Running Up That Hill

Warriors win it all, a crustacean tribute, girls > boys when it comes to the diamond and this week's Tailgate Treat.

You've made it. Well done.

Enjoy your weekend,
The Last Night's Game Team

PS: Father's Day is Sunday, so hustle out to buy cards about flatulence, grilling and cars.

NBA (National Basketball Association)

The Golden State Warriors have done it again. Last night they won their fourth NBA Championship in eight seasons by ousting the Boston Celtics in game six. Steph Curry was the unanimous winner of the NBA Finals MVP. This is the first time he's ever won this award. ROUND OF APPLAUSE

Before We Go

The College Baseball World Series starts today in Omaha. After soaring ratings for the College Softball World Series, the men have some big shoes to fill. The women's tourney beat the men's in TV ratings last year. A few notable stories include Notre Dame's upsetting favorite Tennessee to advance to its first World Series in 20 years. Anthem singer Zach Collier flashed the "horns down" gesture (a derogatory sign to Texas), and it cost him the chance to sing the national anthem at the World Series. PLAY BALL

Coming In Hot

So much drama in the LIV, Tom Brady’s orange hair, would you sit in these seats and this week’s Tailgate Treat?

It's all gas, no brakes headed into the weekend.

As long as 5 o'clock comes quickly,

Golf

These days it seems that the golf world has more drama than an episode of "Real Housewives." Yesterday marked day one of the first tournament for the new Saudi-backed golf league, LIV. Yesterday morning the PGA also suspended all 17 PGA (Profesional Golfers Association) players participating in the LIV tournament. One of those is Dustin Johnson, who received a rumored $100M to make the jump to LIV. (Johnson's total career earnings are $72M). The future of golf is unclear as PGA players like Bryson DeChambeau are rumored to be next to jump the PGA ship to join LIV. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

Before We Go

Game four of the NBA Finals (National Basketball Association) is tonight in Boston, and the Boston Celtics are enjoying another night of home-court advantage. Although before game three at home, the Golden State Warriors noticed their hoop height was off during warm-ups. After measurements, the authorities determined the hoop was a few inches higher than the standard 10 feet. Was it an honest mistake or a home-court hijinx? Celtics lead the series 2-1. A GAME OF INCHES

Potential Upside

Diamonds are television's best friend, LeBron manages to overshadow the NBA Finals, French Open finals and this week's Tailgate Treat.

Head into your weekend with the glass half full mentality.

At least you have something good to talk about,

Women’s College World Series

What's everyone doing this weekend? Watching the Women's College World Series (WCWS), of course. In 2021, the WCWS outperformed the Men's College World Series in viewership by 60 percent, so expectations for this year's tournament are high. The eight best schools in the country are vying for a spot in the finals on June 8. Keep an eye on Oklahoma, which has absolutely dominated the scene this year. Then there's UCLA. UCLA boasts the most national championships of any university and is home to Maya Brady, niece of quarterback Tom Brady. TALENTED

Before We Go

Things are heating up at the French Open (tennis) ahead of this weekend's finals. The No. 1 player in the world, Iga Swiatek (Poland), is one win away from tying the win-streak record set by Venus Williams with 35 wins. She will face off against American Coco Gauff (No. 18), who just graduated high school last week. Yesterday after her win, Gauff used her platform for good, writing "Peace. End Gun Violence." on a camera lens. The two will play on Saturday morning. RISE AND SHINE

Sunday's men's final will feature the winner of today's matches between Alexander Zverev (No. 3) - Rafael Nadal (No. 5), and Casper Rudd (No. 8) - Marin Čilić (No. 20). GAME ON
