The World’s Greatest
The queens of soccer silenced their critics, tonight the chicks will dig the long ball and it’s Manic Monday at Wimbledon.

Women’s World Cup
The U.S. Women are champions of the world again. While critics didn’t like how confident this team was, they earned it, becoming only the second country ever to pull off back-to-back Women’s World Cup wins. (The other is Germany). Their lavender-haired captain, Megan Rapinoe, scored the first goal, making her the oldest woman to ever score in a World Cup final at the age of 34. SHE CELEBRATED LIKE A VETERAN TOO

It’s literally Manic Monday at Wimbledon (tennis). Seriously, it’s referred to as Manic Monday because everyone had a day off yesterday, therefore everyone will be playing today. All eyes will be on 15-year-old American Coco Gauff, as she continues her climb to the finals. The other American wowing everyone is unseeded Alison Riske who ousted #1 ranked Ash Barty today. It’s time for the MLB (Major League Baseball) All-Star festivities starting with the Home Run Derby tonight in Cleveland with the winner taking home a giant $1 million prize for the first time ever. If you want to stay engaged, play along in the Derby bracket challenge (think March Madness with way less pressure, less data and it’s over in a few hours).

The epicenter has shifted to Los Angeles and no we’re not talking about earthquakes. The two L.A. NBA (National Basketball Association) teams made some serious off-season moves over the weekend that have them both at the top of sports books and experts’ lists to win the championship. The Clippers secured the Toronto Raptors (last season’s champions) top player, Kawhi Leonard and the Lakers landed Anthony Davis. LEGIT IN LA LA LAND

Who is shaking up New York, why Prince Harry was throwing shade and Wimbledon begins.

Yesterday was the first day of free agency and it was a big deal for a New York team, just not the one everyone expected. The Brooklyn Nets shocked the sports world by signing the hottest player on the market in Kevin Durant, who played for the Golden State Warriors last season. Knicks fans were hoping this was their year but alas, their hearts were left broken. GROUP THERAPY?

MLB’s (MLB - Major League Baseball) first-ever regular season games in London were a success. There were a lot of runs scored, Freddie Mercury won the mascot race and of course, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited both the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees locker rooms. The gifts the teams gave to baby Archie had Harry throwing some shade. PRETTY IN PINSTRIPES

Today’s a great day to wear white as Wimbledon begins today. (Players are required to wear all white). The most intriguing match is between the oldest player in the tournament, American Venus Williams, 39, vs. the youngest player, American Cori Gauff, 15. Williams reached four of her nine Wimbledon finals before Gauff was born. AT LEAST SHE CAN BUY BEER

It was a rough day for another New York team, the Mets (MLB). Their season hasn’t been going so well (remember the coach/player confrontation with a reporter)? Now they’re apologizing again for including two of their players, who are very much alive, in their “In Memoriam.” THEY’LL REMEMBER THEM NOW

We’re down to the final four teams in the Women’s World Cup. Tomorrow the U.S. Women will meet up with England in a loser goes home match. (Sweden and the Netherlands are the other two teams). The U.S. Women’s head coach, Jill Ellis, will be facing off against her birth country, one that denied her the opportunity to play soccer as a girl. MAKE IT COUNT

The U.S. Women will face their toughest competitor yet in Team Spain today at noon EST. While you cheer on your team, you should know that fans and teams are not cheering for VAR (Video Assistant Referee – i.e. instant replay). It’s the first time using the technology in the tourney and it may be the last. The VAR played an integral, and not so favorable role, in the Cameroon - England game and Jamaica – Italy games. Sean McVay, who was the youngest head coach in NFL (National Football League) history when he was hired by the Los Angeles Rams at 30, may not have won a Super Bowl ring this year but he still has some new bling in his household. The Rams head coach, now 33, popped the question to his model girlfriend over the weekend while vacationing in France. YOU COMPLETE (PASS) ME

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for in the College Baseball World Series. Michigan and Vanderbilt will battle for the championship in the best-of-three games finals starting tonight. You might remember Michigan is the team whose coach strives to make college baseball accessible to all and Vanderbilt has the crazy Vandy Whistlers who are pissing everyone off. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

It’s been a rough season for the New York Mets (MLB – Major League Baseball) so why not throw another log on the fire? The team’s head coach shouted obscenities at a reporter after a game yesterday and then a pitcher, coming to defense of his coach, charged the reporter. No body contact was made, apologies were issued and everyone is cool now. TALK ABOUT A HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT
