Meanwhile, South Carolina, Iowa, USC and Texas lead the charge in the women's bracket, promising exhilarating matchups and fierce competition. Keep an eye on South Carolina, which has two back-to-back undefeated seasons, and Caitlin Clark’s Iowa.

In a twist of fate, Texas A&M's recent acquisition of Nebraska's Athletic Director sets the stage for a showdown of epic proportions as the Aggies face off against the Cornhuskers in both the men's and women's first round—a true testament to the whims of karma.

In the Big Ten, Caitlin Clark and Iowa overcame a rough first half to come back against Nebraska to win the Hawkeyes 3rd straight Big Ten title.

In a surprising turn of events at the Oscars, wrestler-turned-actor John Cena stole the spotlight by presenting nearly nude, albeit with a strategic envelope covering his modesty as he presented the award for Best Costume to “Poor Things.” He fittingly opened his award presentation dialogue with “Costumes are so important.”

Weekend Preview: Int’l Women’s Day, Molson Coors Steps up + Red Hot F1 Trouble
International Women’s Day Edition.
It’s International Women’s Day, and today’s post celebrates the best of the best.
PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League)
The Professional Women’s Hockey League is making waves in its inaugural season, breaking attendance records and catching the attention of major sponsors like Molson Coors. Notably, Molson Coors was part of a jersey redesign to provide more visible recognition to the players themselves by putting their sponsor logo above the number (where the player name would typically go, but tends to be covered by the athlete’s hair) and moving the athlete’s name to a location below the jersey number.
F1 (Formula One)
While the F1 season kicked off with Max Verstappen’s victory in Bahrain, his Red Bull team faces controversy involving team principal Christian Horner, who is married to Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell. Despite being cleared of previous allegations of inappropriate actions put forth by a whistleblower, Red Bull has suspended said whistleblower, sparking further tensions. Drivers like Lewis Hamilton are speaking out against Red Bull.
Additionally, due to the start of Ramadan, the upcoming competition in Saudi Arabia will be held on Saturday instead of Sunday.
March Madness Begins
The men's regular comen's basketball season concludes as March unfolds, while women's teams begin their conference tournaments. Notably, the Big 10 conference tournament is sold out for the first time ever, thanks to Caitlin Clark. All eyes are on Clark, who recently became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball, leading Iowa into the quarterfinals. Iowa plays today.
The top seeds in the conference tournaments are South Carolina, Stanford, Ohio State, and UCLA. With South Carolina's undefeated record and notable wins, the competition promises to be fierce.
WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) soars
Excitement builds in the WNBA as tickets for the draft sell out within minutes; thanks again to the Caitlin Clark effect. The league also announced that the Las Vegas Aces make history as the first WNBA franchise to sell out season tickets. Additionally, the league expands its reach by hosting a preseason game in Canada for the second consecutive season, reflecting the growing interest in women's basketball in the country. Canada is a possible location for a future WNBA expansion team.
