Was the action-packed sports weekend worth the wait?

The Last Night’s Game Team

NFL (National Football League)

The first week in football was certainly one for the ages. The Antonio Brown drama is finally over…for now. He was a member of the Oakland Raiders Friday night and by Saturday, he was out $30 million but a member of the New England Patriots. There was a rare tie game in the desert and the Miami Dolphins suffered such a horrible blowout loss, that a few players called their agents asking for a trade. AND IT’S JUST WEEK ONE

Overtime

One young fan wanted so badly to participate in his school’s college day but didn’t have a shirt of his favorite team, University of Tennessee, so he created his own. After he was bullied for his homemade design, his teacher took to Facebook to ask her friends for their help securing an official t-shirt. The post went viral and caught the attention of the university that not only sent him swag, but made his handmade design into an official shirt, with the proceeds benefitting an anti-bullying foundation. Odell Beckham Jr. made his debut with the Cleveland Browns (NFL) yesterday. (They lost). He must have wanted to make a statement because was spotted wearing a $350,000 Richard Mille watch on the field during the game. Rafael Nadal (tennis) also happened to be wearing a Richard Mille watch during his win yesterday that was worth $750,000. TALK ABOUT MARKETING DOLLARS WELL SPENT

In case you missed it, Serena Williams once again missed out on her chance to claim her record-tying 24th Grand Slam title. She lost at the U.S. Open women’s final to Bianca Andreescu. Andreescu is the first player, man or woman, who was born in the 2000s to win a Grand Slam. Rafael Nadal took home the trophy on the men’s side. Tennis is continuing its streak, as both players received the same prize money. ON THE SAME LEVEL
