Come As You Are

All the fodder you need to get through the weekend without talking about the election.

Are we there yet? (Also, get out and vote).

The Last Night’s Game Team

Golf

All signs point to launch for “The Match 3.” You might remember we had a showdown earlier this year on the golf course between Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Now it looks like on November 27, the winning team from the previous match - Phil Mickelson and Peyton Manning will face-off against NBA (National Basketball Association) Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry. Barkley is known for his terrible golf swing and Curry is so good at golf he could practically play it professionally. FORE REAL

Overtime

Getting engaged is a highlight of a couple’s life together so imagine the cherry on top that is being photobombed during said engagement by a basketball legend. Ryanbasch shared photos of his beach proposal on Instagram that happened to have Dwyane Wade in the background looking so touched to happen upon this big moment. Wade even hopped in a photo with the two to celebrate. Wade has been married to actress Gabrielle Union since 2014. UNFORGETTABLE

Sideline stat

While the highly anticipated matchup between Alabama and Georgia will go on this weekend, it will go on without Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He and the school’s athletic director both tested positive for COVID. He was hoping to coach from his home office but the NCAA (governing body of college sports) says he can’t have any contact with the team/coaches within 90 minutes of the game. Then there’s the Florida game. Their head coach said last week that he would love to see 90,000 people pack their football stadium. Well now that game against LSU has been postponed because of positive COVID tests. THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY

Coaches’ corner

American tennis player Sam Querrey fled from Russia but not for reasons you might think. While in the country for a tennis tournament, he and his wife tested positive for COVID. Fearing they were going to be hospitalized and separated from their eight-month-old son, they high tailed it out of the country on a private jet without telling anyone. THE GREAT ESCAPE

What to watch

Both the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves (MLB - Major League Baseball) are one win away from heading to the World Series, but the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros aren’t going away quietly. The World Series starts on Tuesday. GAME ON
