It’s a new week, and there’s plenty to talk about.
Make the best of it,
The Last Night’s Game Team
WNBA (WOMEN’S NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION)
In front of another sold-out crowd, the Chicago Sky claimed their first franchise WNBA championship. After the win over the Phoenix Mercury, Chicago native Candace Parker was obviously emotional. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Overtime
An unranked Purdue beat No. 2 ranked Iowa at home but the win is only part of the story. Mid-game a fan threw a Purdue lineman a beer and he chugged the Bud Light on the field. Then Purdue dropped the postgame tweet of the year - “We just beat the No. 2 out of Iowa.” CLEVER ALWAYS WINS
Sideline stat
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (NFL – National Football League) won again in Chicago, defeating the Bears for the fifth straight time. After a touchdown, TV cameras captured Rodgers yelling “I still own you” at the Bears fans in the heat of the moment. The Packers have five games in a row after a rough start to the season. TRUTH HURTS
Coaches’ corner
“Saturday Night Live” does it again. Their spoof of the firing of Las Vegas Raiders (NFL) coach Jon Gruden over emails using homophobic, racist and misogynistic language is on point. WATCH
