Won’t Back Down

Today we're covering the Underwear Olympics, Messi vs. the mafia and all the Kelce/Kelsea jokes ahead of Saturday night.

Weekend vibes,
The Last Night's Game Team

nfl (national football league)

In a survey of 1,300 NFL players, the Washington Commanders ranked as the worst organization to play for. The Minnesota Vikings claimed the spot as the top team to suit up for. The Arizona Cardinals received a notable distinction, being the only team to deduct dinner from players' paychecks should they want to get food from the facility. Oh, and the Cardinals' food ranked last in the survey. OF ALL OF THE WAYS TO SAVE A BUCK

Short and Sweet

  • Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL - National Football League) will host "Saturday Night Live" with musical guest Kelsea Ballerini.

  • The F1 (Formula One) racing season begins in Bahrain. Look for digital advertising on the McLaren cars to ensure their sponsors all get air time.

  • Soccer superstar Lionel Messi received death threats from the local mafia in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, after they opened fire in a supermarket owned by his wife's family. Rosario is teeming with organized crime and is the country's most dangerous city.

  • The winningest men's basketball coach in Notre Dame history walked off the floor after his final game with the team and went to a local college bar to do shots.

Before We Go

The NFL Combine (pronounced kɒmbaɪn– like a harvesting tractor) which is happening now in Indianapolis, is known as the “Underwear Olympics” because NFL Draft prospects compete in different challenges in small, tight-fitting workout gear all while being scrutinized. And size matters.

The chatter around likely No. 1 draft pick Bryce Young from Alabama is about his small stature. Young weighs in at 195 pounds and is 5-foot-10 1/2, which is not ideal to be slammed to the ground by a 315-pound defensive player. Other events include intense interviews and the 40-yard dash.
