Sports is a cutthroat business; no one knows that better than an athlete experiencing their first trade.
There are more stories than not of athletes who found out they were traded via Twitter or the bottom line on ESPN. And in most cases, the player has no say, nor are they even aware they are on the market. From a business standpoint, as soon as a player is traded, their now former team's obligations to them are over, including travel to their next location and relocation.
