While the tabloids may cover every waking moment of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they’re giving them something else to talk about - the fifth Invictus Games.

The Last Night’s Game Team
1. Inspired after visiting the Warrior Games in the U.S., Harry the Duke of Sussex founded the Invictus Games in 2013. The Games are an international sporting event for injured servicemen and women. Due to Coronavirus, these Games were postponed from 2020 to 2021 and then again to 2022.
2. 'Invictus' means unconquered, which is reflected in the motto for the games. The motto, "I AM," embodies the belief that a person can still be undefeatable even with an illness or injury.
3. Competitors from 17 allied nations are all active duty and veteran service members who have been become ill or injured during or as a direct consequence of their service. Team USA has 65 athletes competing.
4. More than 500 competitors will descend on The Hague, Netherlands, for the fifth installment of the Games (April 16-22). The six days of competition feature ten adaptive sports, including archery, track and field, powerlifting and, for the first time, golf. Complete schedule
5. Team Ukraine received special permission from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to compete in the competition. The duke said he encouraged the athletes to compete "not simply to show your strength but to tell your truth, the truth, of what is happening in your country."

NFL (National Football League)
Not a chance. Break out the participation trophies because after yesterday’s games, the dreams of making the playoffs died for the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants. At this point the Browns would probably be happy with winning one game this season, something they still haven’t done yet.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. The winner of this weekend’s celebration dance goes to (drumroll please), the best team in the NFL - the Philadelphia Eagles. Even the players on the sideline took a break from playing tic-tac-toe to get in on this Electric Slide action.
Overtime
After making their official debut during the 2017 Invictus Games, Prince Harry and his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle announced they are engaged. The Invictus Games are the mastermind of Prince Harry and honor wounded soldiers as they compete in athletic, Olympic-style events. More on the engagement.
Sideline stat
There were big upsets in college football this weekend including number one ranked Alabama losing to Auburn (#6). The Tiger fans were so excited they rushed the field to celebrate. Someone is always the party pooper and the school was fined $250,000 for allowing “access to competition area.” We’d say that’s money well spent. Don’t worry, the fans still carried on the tradition of toilet papering the trees on campus too.
Coaches’ corner
Things got weird in the recent college basketball game between Alabama (#25) vs. Minnesota (#14). The entire Alabama team, minus five players, were ejected from the game for their role in a bench clearing brawl. Then two of those players weren’t able to play, so Alabama finished the game with three players against Minnesota’s five (the number of players on the court according to the rule book) and they almost won.

United front. Look for the anthem protests to continue to be a hot topic this weekend in the NFL. In the past week, we’ve seen anthem singers quit, owners speak out and last night in Green Bay, we saw Packers fans join in at the encouragement of the team.
College Basketball
Heads will roll. The fallout from the FBI investigation into the college basketball bribery scandal is just beginning with University of Louisville’s head coach and athletic director as the first victims to lose their jobs. (Here’s a quick summary on the scandal).
MLB (Major League Baseball)
You’ve made it. It’s the last weekend of the regular season for baseball. While many of the spots in the playoffs have been clinched, there are still a few open. The big teams to watch this weekend are the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies as they vie for a spot in the post season that starts next week.
Overtime
The third annual Invictus Games also wrap up this weekend. The stories and success of 550 injured service men and women turned athletes overshadowed the debut of the Games' founder Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan Markle. The PGA (Professional Golfers Association) season may be over but there’s one more chance to prove who’s the best. The top golfers in the world have assembled into two teams – Team U.S. and International (featuring players from everywhere but Europe) – in the Presidents Cup. Former presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama were all part of the opening ceremonies yesterday.

No one is going to overstay their welcome at Purdue anytime soon. University of Michigan head coach took to the media this week to complain that not only are their visitor facilities outdated but his players sat in the team bus during halftime because the locker room didn’t have air conditioning. That’s one way to tackle home-field advantage.
