World Cup
When you instantly become best friends. South Korea stunned the world by beating defending champion Germany and eliminating them from the tournament. The German loss meant Mexico qualified for the next stage of games. The Mexico fans were so grateful to South Korea that one business sent a pallet of Mexican beer (no really) to the South Korean embassy in Washington, D.C. They also celebrated the victory in the streets by drinking tequila with the Korean consul general to Mexico. ¡SALUD!

Could it be the best basketball movie since “Space Jam?” If you’re tired of the heat and want a laugh, the basketball movie “Uncle Drew” comes out this weekend. Uncle Drew started with a character in a Pepsi commercial starring Boston Celtics (NBA – National Basketball Association) superstar Kyrie Irving. Now it hits the big screen with Irving as the star, along with some help from basketball hall of famers Lisa Leslie and Shaq, to name a few. (Don’t worry this is nothing like Shaq’s starring role in the 90s film Kazaam). RAVE REVIEWS
Sideline stat
The World Cup started with 32 teams and now it's down to 16 teams as we enter the “knockout stage” tomorrow. Not to be confused with a Mike Tyson punch, the knockout stage means games cannot end in a tie and the losing team goes home. And yes, there may be dramatic shootouts to determine the winner. If you’re going to watch a soccer game, now’s the time to start (well actually tomorrow at 10 am EST). SCHEDULE

Yesterday Senegal was the first team in World Cup history to be eliminated from the tournament by fair points play. They had the exact same record and goal differential as Japan, so the tie breaker was the fact that they had more penalties (red and yellow cards), therefore they had to pack their bags. Finally it pays to be good. CONFUSED? HERE’S A QUICK VIDEO EXPLANATION ON FAIR POINTS
What to watch
FRIDAY - Will he stay or will he go? All eyes are on LeBron James who is scheduled to inform his current team, the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), tonight by 11:59 pm if he’ll be staying to play another season with them, or moving on to join another team.
SUNDAY – Retired NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., will make his debut in his new gig as a TV commentator during the race in Chicago.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Let’s get it on. The Apple Cup, Paul Bunyan’s Axe, the Iron Bowl….it’s rivalry weekend in college football and these are all trophies teams are competing for. The distaste for each other goes back generations but it makes for great football. Arizona and Arizona State will compete for the Territorial Cup, the oldest rivalry trophy in college football. Since rivalry games are full of passion, you never know who might take home a win. SCHEDULE
NFL (NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE)
What’s in a name? Minnesota Vikings' Everson Griffin and his wife welcomed their son into the world right before yesterday’s football game. After a key play, Griffen revealed his undershirt that said "I just had a baby boy, what should we name him?"
OVERTIME
We saw so many athletes doing the right thing yesterday by giving back to their communities. Miami Marlins owner Derek Jeter (MLB – Major League Baseball) and his team handed out 1,000 meals to families in need, Kyrie Irving and Carmelo Anthony (both NBA players – National Basketball Association) worked with children in need in their cities and DeMarco Murray and 70 of his Tennessee Titan teammates (NFL) feed the homeless in Nashville a hot Thanksgiving meal.
SIDELINE STAT
The Cleveland Browns haven't won a game all season, but through the miracle of math they could still make the playoffs. They have a 1-in-19-quintillion chance. We were never good at math anyway. HOW?
Coaches’ corner
We love a good touchdown celebration and sticking with the Thanksgiving theme, the Minnesota Vikings celebrated with an Oscar worthy touchdown “feast.” WATCH
5 Things To Know About The Mayweather vs. McGregor Fight
With over 50 million people projected to watch Saturday's fight in the U.S. alone, chances are you’ll cross paths with someone who will want to talk shop.
Always be prepared,

Five Things To Know About The Mayweather vs. McGregor Fight
Why is this matchup such a big deal? This fight brings together champions from two different disciplines – Mayweather is a boxer (and this is a boxing match) and McGregor is a mixed martial artist from the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).
Floyd “Money” Mayweather has a 49-0 boxing record. A win on Saturday will give him the best record in boxing at 50-0 and he’s already filed five trademarks for the phrase “50-0.” It’s rumored he could make upwards of $400 million for Saturday's fight.
Experts think he doesn’t have a chance, but Irishman Conor McGregor has been dubbed “Mystic Mac” for making bold predictions and having them come true. The fighter, who made a record $3 million in a UFC fight, is predicted to make over $100 million for this fight. We’d let Mayweather punch us for that much too.
Sharing the spotlight is the “Confident” Grammy nominated Demi Lovato, who will sing the national anthem. No word on the crooner for the Irish anthem but our fingers are crossed for Bono. Lastly, while Justin Bieber is one of Mayweather’s BFFs, don’t look for him ringside as they’ve reportedly had a falling out this week.
The rules for the fight are strictly boxing rules. One exception is the weight of the gloves. (See the sideline stat below). What’s to stop McGregor from breaking out a martial arts move? Huge financial penalties and threats that Mayweather’s team will “sue him beyond belief.”
Where can I catch the fight? The match will stream live from Las Vegas on Pay-Per-View. There are also movie theaters across the country throwing watch parties. The main fight should take place closer to 11 pm EST.
If you’d like to place a bet, here are the odds. Oddly, they’re pretty comparable.

Saddened by the violence, Spanish swimmer Fernando Alvarez wanted to pay tribute to the victims of the Barcelona attack at the Masters World Championships. Organizers told him no, so he observed his own moment of silence by standing on his platform for one minute after his race started. That’s a golden heart.
Sideline stat
Typically, UFC fighters fight with four ounce gloves and boxers fight with 10 ounce gloves, but the fighters won an appeal to change the glove weight to eight ounces for this match. This will make the punches more powerful.
Coaches’ corner
After weeks of speculation, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Kyrie Irving away from LeBron James and to the Boston Celtics. Irving was traded for Isiah Thomas, who you might remember lost his sister in a car accident last year during the NBA (National Basketball Association) playoffs.
