November has been a historic month for women breaking the glass ceiling. On Friday Kim Ng became the newest general manager of the Miami Marlins and the first female and first Asian-American to ever serve in that role in the history of the big four of American sports (MLB, NHL, NFL and NBA). She has served as an assistant GM with both the Yankees and the Dodgers as well as in the executive suite with the White Sox. Hall of Famer and Miami Marlins CEO/owner Derek Jeter led the breakthrough hire. WATCH OUT WORLD
Overtime
Dustin Johnson went from being quarantined with COVID in a hotel room for 11 days earlier this month to the most dominant performance ever at The Masters. Johnson shot 20 under par to land his first green jacket yesterday. Par is the expected number of strokes per hole for a golfer, or “average.” So, Johnson beat that average by 20 strokes, which is the lowest score in tournament history. There to celebrate with Johnson was his fiancé Paulina Gretzky, who is the daughter of hockey great Wayne Gretzky. CHAMPIONS RUN IN THE FAMILY

Formula One (F1) driver Lewis Hamilton continues to make 2020 his year. Yesterday he won his seventh world championship, tying the record set by racing legend Michael Schumacher. As expected, Hamilton’s vegan pup Roscoe was there to celebrate with him. PARTY ON!

And just like that we’re heading into the semifinals of “Dancing with the Stars” and long gone are the days of Carol Baskin and her tiger themed performances. Usually, athletes fare well in this competition but this year Olympic Figure Skater Johnny Weir is the only one remaining. College Basketball
The final four teams playing for the college basketball national championship are taking the court this weekend, with the women playing today and the men tomorrow. Many of the teams arrived earlier this week but this time the men’s team from Michigan State hopped on their flight without a few important people. They left behind the band and the cheerleaders. The extra seats on the team’s charter flight were filled with donors and other VIPs so the people in charge of the fanfare were forced to take a bus. WE’VE GOT SPIRIT, HOW ‘BOUT YOU?

It’s frowned upon, and even considered bad luck, to have a pink NASCAR race car but no one has ever had an opportunity like this one. There's no way you'll miss Tyler Reddick’s car in the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) Xfinity Series as it’s pink with Dolly Parton’s face on the hood. The Florida Marlins (MLB - Major League Baseball) are encouraging fans to bring their own musical instruments to games. Fans can sit in the designated “Comunidad 305” section with other musicians. In case you’re wondering kazoos, vuvuzelas, thundersticks, air horns and whistles are not allowed because that would be annoying. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

University of Virginia’s Kyle Guy was forced to take down his wedding registry by the NCAA (governing body for college sports) for fear it might break their rules. Guy has been a critical part of the team’s run for the college basketball national championship and a news source posted the couple’s registry, encouraging fans to support the soon-to-be husband and wife. The NCAA received word of it and put the kibosh on the potential bridegroom bounty. WEDDING CRASHERS
What to watch
The women’s national championship game is on Sunday and will feature the winners of Oregon vs. Baylor and UConn vs. Notre Dame. The men’s game will be on Monday, pitting the winners of Virginia vs. Auburn and Michigan State vs. Texas Tech against each other. BRING IT ON

Let’s get it on. The Apple Cup, Paul Bunyan’s Axe, the Iron Bowl….it’s rivalry weekend in college football and these are all trophies teams are competing for. The distaste for each other goes back generations but it makes for great football. Arizona and Arizona State will compete for the Territorial Cup, the oldest rivalry trophy in college football. Since rivalry games are full of passion, you never know who might take home a win. SCHEDULE

We saw so many athletes doing the right thing yesterday by giving back to their communities. Miami Marlins owner Derek Jeter (MLB – Major League Baseball) and his team handed out 1,000 meals to families in need, Kyrie Irving and Carmelo Anthony (both NBA players – National Basketball Association) worked with children in need in their cities and DeMarco Murray and 70 of his Tennessee Titan teammates (NFL) feed the homeless in Nashville a hot Thanksgiving meal.

The Cleveland Browns haven't won a game all season, but through the miracle of math they could still make the playoffs. They have a 1-in-19-quintillion chance. We were never good at math anyway. HOW?
