COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Never say never. You may remember the heartwarming story about USC (University of Southern California) long-snapper Jake Owen. Jake has been blind since he was 12 but he worked hard to make the football team. If that wasn't enough, he can now add driving his list of skills. Thanks to former NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) driver Todd Bodine, Owen made his driving debut on the Charlotte Motor Speedway. A FEEL GOOD FRIDAY READ
OVERTIME
Saturday may be the best day ever with the royal wedding and the FA Cup (England’s soccer league championship) between Chelsea and Manchester United. While we’ll be able to enjoy both from the comfort of our couch, Prince William is trying to figure out how to be in two places at once. He is the best man in the wedding but also the President of the English Football Federation, who typically hands out the trophy to the winning soccer team. There are conflicting reports but it seems he may be able to uphold both obligations. TIME TRAVEL?
SIDELINE STAT
After winning the Kentucky Derby, Justify is looking for another victory in the quest for the Triple Crown at the Preakness Stakes tomorrow. Luckily for Justify, the field in the race is less than half the size of the Derby with only eight horses competing. Ever wonder how a horse like Justify makes the trip from Kentucky to the race in Baltimore, MD? Well, it’s in first class accommodations of course. Although his food is probably just as bad as normal airplane food. TRAVEL PICS
COACHES’ CORNER
We’re not sure how you train for this sort of athletic event but the Preakness is known for its Porta Potty races. It’s not what you think, people literally race on top of rows of portable toilets while the crowd throws beer cans and other objects. As you would expect, this doesn’t end well for most. Their loss is our gain as this video is too good to pass up. WARNING: YOU MAY PEE YOUR PANTS LAUGHING AT THIS VIDEO (oh the irony)
WHAT TO WATCH
The WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) begins their season today and there’s a new kid on the block, the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces will make their debut hoping to follow in the successful footsteps of the other new professional team in Las Vegas, the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL – National Hockey League).

NHL (NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE)
What happens in Vegas. We’re down to the final four in the NHL playoffs with the Vegas Golden Knights continuing to defy the odds. The team, in its first season, have taken the desert by storm. They are only the third major professional sports team in 58 years to reach the semifinals of the playoffs in their inaugural year. They take on the Winnipeg Jets starting this Saturday. The St. Louis Cardinals (MLB – Major League Baseball) are protecting their family jewels. After their catcher Yadier Molina took a ball to the groin (and is subsequently is out for a month with a hematoma), the team purchased some actual bulletproof cups to protect their catcher’s assets. SERIOUSLY BULLETPROOF
SIDELINE STAT
The NHL isn’t the only league in the final four of the playoffs. The Cleveland Cavaliers will take on the Boston Celtics this Sunday in the NBA (National Basketball Association) Eastern Conference Playoffs. The odds aren’t in the Celtics favor as Cavs star, LeBron James, has won 23 straight Eastern Conference playoff series. Not only that, but King James has almost played more playoff games than the Celtics’ entire active playoff roster. They call him the king for a reason. KING JAMES

Nothing says Mother’s Day like a tall Budweiser. This year’s Mother’s Day commercial from the famed beer company features the mom of Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant (NBA) and recognizes moms everywhere as the real MVP. Truth. (FYI - The Warriors play the Houston Rockets in the next round of the NBA playoffs starting Monday). COMMERCIAL

Kentucky Derby
When it’s ladies’ night. Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby, which is only for three-year-old male horses, but today is all about the ladies. Kentucky Oaks, which is held the day before the Derby, is the big race for three-year-old fillies – aka the ladies. While in the Derby the boys run for the roses, the girls race for a garland of lilies so the race is aptly titled “lilies for the fillies.” KENTUCKY OAKS

What says Cinco de Mayo like peanuts and cracker jacks? Tonight, for the first time in 19 years, there will be a regular-season MLB (Major League Baseball) game in Mexico. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres have packed their passports and are taking their weekend series on the road to Monterrey, Mexico. BATTER UP

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim’s Albert Pujols (MLB) is about to make history. He’s sitting at 2,999 career hits going into the weekend. With one more hit, he’ll be the 32nd player to reach 3,000 hits and the second Dominican born player to reach this milestone. HISTORY
