Hitting the courts today in the March Madness tournament is one of the tallest men on earth. UCF’s (University of Central Florida) Tacko Fall came to the U.S from Senegal in high school, never having played in a real basketball game. He sees his height as a gift partially because he can reach things on the top shelf. His message to kids who want to grow big like him? “Eat your vegetables.” IF ONLY IT WAS THAT EASY

Knock knock. Who’s there? Kevin Durant. Wait, who? The basketball superstar surprised some young fans by delivering pizza to their hotel room. Durant met the kids' parents in a hotel elevator following another Golden State Warriors (NBA – National Basketball Association) win. GAME CHANGER

The lineup for Lollapalooza has been released and a familiar face from the court will be taking the stage. The larger than life former NBA champ, 7-foot Shaq “DJ Diesel” O’Neal will be playing a set at the famed music festival. He holds the distinction of the sports world's only platinum album, titled Shaq Diesel (1993). MAN OF MANY TALENTS

A feud started by a Super Bowl commercial has escalated. Bud Light’s medieval commercials accusing MillerCoors of using corn syrup have led to a lawsuit. MillerCoors accuses Anheuser-Busch of launching a "false and misleading advertising campaign in order to increase sales of Bud Light” but Anheuser-Busch isn’t backing down. A STICKY SITUATION

The big dance is almost here. No not prom, but the most anticipated tournament of the year…March Madness. Sunday is Selection Sunday (and St. Patrick’s Day) where we will find out who’s in and who’s out of the big bracket bonanza that is the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. POT O’GOLD

Golfer Phil Mickelson is another celebrity to fall into the wrath of the "Operation Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal that is shaking up Hollywood and the world of sports. He admitted that he used Rick Singer’s services for their children to guide them through the admissions process. He also said they never did anything illegal stating, “Obviously, we were not part of this fraud, our kids would disown us if we ever tried to interfere.” IT’S COMPLICATED
SIDELINE STAT
MLB (Major League Baseball) is working to make baseball more fan friendly with new rules for the upcoming season. They will institute shorter bathroom breaks for players (i.e. time between innings), an Election Day for the players selected for the all-star game and a $1 million prize for the winner of the home run derby. The Cleveland Browns went from the worst team in the NFL (National Football League) with a winless season, to being a team to watch. One Browns fan was so excited after the team traded for accomplished receiver Odell Beckham Jr. that his neighbor called 9-1-1. He was screaming while running frantically through the street to celebrate the acquisition and his neighbor called police, concerned about his erratic behavior. When they arrived, everyone celebrated together and had a good laugh. PASSION ISN’T A CRIME

MLB (MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL)
Sending the sports world into a tizzy, baseball's biggest free agent, Bryce Harper, signed with the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB – Major League Baseball) for a cool 13 years, $330 million. His contract is the most lucrative free agent contract signed in American professional sports history. The contract locks him in with the team until 2031, about the time the Jetsons start flying cars. AT LEAST HE’LL BE ABLE TO AFFORD ONE

We’ve all had that moment where we felt like we forgot to pack something. Well the equipment managers for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s basketball team did. They forgot to pack their team’s uniforms for an away game and the team was forced to wear the other team’s jerseys. BET THAT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN

The Dallas Cowboys’ Jason Witten (NFL - National Football League) retired to the broadcast booth last season, covering Monday Night Football. Apparently, the 11-time Pro Bowler had enough of the criticism about his on-air talent (or lack thereof according to some folks), so he signed back with the Cowboys at age 36 to play another season. COACHES’ CORNER
The nation’s toughest job interview, the NFL Combine, continues this weekend with the fan favorite 40-yard dash. The NFL prospects will take the field but keep an eye out for Rich Eisen, a sportscaster who is competing in the run for the 15th year in a row. He’ll race in his suit and a pair of cleats all to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. FAST FEET
