Come As You Are

Peyton and Phil are back for the “Match 3,” the must see photobomb and the real reason why an American tennis player escaped Russia in a private plane.

All the fodder you need to get through the weekend without talking about the election.

Are we there yet? (Also, get out and vote).

The Last Night’s Game Team

Golf

All signs point to launch for “The Match 3.” You might remember we had a showdown earlier this year on the golf course between Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Now it looks like on November 27, the winning team from the previous match - Phil Mickelson and Peyton Manning will face-off against NBA (National Basketball Association) Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry. Barkley is known for his terrible golf swing and Curry is so good at golf he could practically play it professionally. FORE REAL

Overtime

Getting engaged is a highlight of a couple’s life together so imagine the cherry on top that is being photobombed during said engagement by a basketball legend. Ryanbasch shared photos of his beach proposal on Instagram that happened to have Dwyane Wade in the background looking so touched to happen upon this big moment. Wade even hopped in a photo with the two to celebrate. Wade has been married to actress Gabrielle Union since 2014. UNFORGETTABLE

Sideline stat

While the highly anticipated matchup between Alabama and Georgia will go on this weekend, it will go on without Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He and the school’s athletic director both tested positive for COVID. He was hoping to coach from his home office but the NCAA (governing body of college sports) says he can’t have any contact with the team/coaches within 90 minutes of the game. Then there’s the Florida game. Their head coach said last week that he would love to see 90,000 people pack their football stadium. Well now that game against LSU has been postponed because of positive COVID tests. THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY

Coaches’ corner

American tennis player Sam Querrey fled from Russia but not for reasons you might think. While in the country for a tennis tournament, he and his wife tested positive for COVID. Fearing they were going to be hospitalized and separated from their eight-month-old son, they high tailed it out of the country on a private jet without telling anyone. THE GREAT ESCAPE

What to watch

Both the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves (MLB - Major League Baseball) are one win away from heading to the World Series, but the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros aren’t going away quietly. The World Series starts on Tuesday. GAME ON

Here's To Hoping

How the NBA Finals might postpone "The Bachelorette" premiere, a Roddick roast and the 'Sister Act' gone viral - here's what you need to know.

May your weekend bring you friends, champagne and a cure for maskne.

Putting it out in the universe,
The Last Night's Game

NBA (National basketball Association)

NBA Finals game five is tonight and the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to close out the series and take home a championship title with a win. But the Miami Heat have a higher power on their side. A group of nuns at a Miami Catholic school have gone viral in a video showing their support for the Heat and Kendrick Nunn using #nuntonunn and #unitedinblack.

The Lakers are hoping they have all of “The Bachelorette” fans on their side because if this series goes to game seven on Tuesday, ABC will postpone the season premiere of the show. Don’t worry, they’re pulling out all the stops for tonight’s game by wearing their “Black Mamba” jerseys (read: Kobe Bryant inspired unis). They are undefeated in the playoffs while wearing them. BACK IN BLACK

Overtime

Who needs a laugh? Former tennis great Andy Roddick and his wife Brooklyn Decker are hoping that we all do. The former model turned designer, Decker, is the host of Sunday’s "No Love: A Roast of Andy Roddick" that will benefit the Andy Roddick Foundation. The virtual roast will feature cameos from Serena Williams, Peyton Manning, Mandy Moore, Kendra Scott, and Tiffani Thiesson. Livestream “tickets” sell for $25 and will go toward programs that provide out-of-school, after-school and summer learning programs to the underserved community of East Austin, Texas. LAUGHING FOR GOOD

Sideline stat

While 2020 has been a dumpster fire for most, it’s been a good year for American tennis player Sofia Kenin. On Saturday, the No. 4 ranked Kenin will play in the French Open Finals where she hopes to secure her second Grand Slam (aka a Major) of the year. Her opponent, unranked 19-year-old Iga Swiatek, is an underdog for sure but never count her out – she beat Kenin four years ago. Kenin won her first Grand Slam, the Australian Open, in January. SERVING UP AN ACTION-PACKED WEEKEND

Coaches’ corner

If it seems like the football season might be spiraling out of control, you might be right. First, we have a host of games being moved around in the NFL (National Football League) because of COVID. Due to positive tests both the Buffalo Bills-Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots-Denver Broncos games have been moved to Tuesday night and Monday night, respectively, depending on testing. Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost last night to the Chicago Bears in a rematch of Super Bowl 52 quarterbacks. (He lost that Super Bowl to Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles). Then in college football the Missouri-LSU game is being moved for yet another hurricane, Hurricane Delta. A LOT OF MOVING PARTS

NFL (National Football League)

It was only a matter of time, but we have our first COVID-postponed NFL game. With 9+ members of the Tennessee Titans team/staff testing positive for COVID, their game this weekend vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers has been postponed. The teams may play as early as next week depending on test results. What does that mean for you? If you have a fantasy football team, make sure to change up your roster if you have players on either of these teams. ALL BETS ARE OFF IN 2020

Overtime

Well, the NBA (National Basketball Association) Finals might not turn out to be the edge of your seat competition you were hoping for. LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers blew out the Miami Heat in game one and now two of the Heat’s best players are out with injuries. They play again tonight so hold onto your hats. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Sideline Stat

In the wake of the Titans COVID situation, the NFL has implemented some new strict guidelines. PPE and face masks must be worn by all players and coaches on the practice field and gloves must be worn by everyone with the one exception of the quarterback's throwing hand. All team meetings must be virtual and team or player gatherings away from the facility are prohibited. SMACKDOWN

Coaches’ corner

If the NBA doesn’t do it for you, here’s some exciting finals basketball to watch. The Las Vegas Aces start their quest for a championship against the Seattle Storm in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) playoffs tonight. You might recognize one familiar face on the Storm - Sue Bird who is partners with Megan Rapinoe from the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team. The two were featured on the cover of InStyle Magazine earlier this year and Rapinoe has been a fixture inside the “Wubble” - WNBA bubble. LADIES FIRST (NO SERIOUSLY THEIR GAME IS BEFORE THE NBA GAME)
