Star Walkin'

Twitter toys with sports fans, the Commanders better call their lawyer, it's not bad to be second choice and this week's Tailgate Treat

Take the weekend by storm because you'll be prepared for anything after reading this.

Don't stop me now,
The Last Night's Game Team

PS: Willkommen American football - check out this week's NFL conversation starter on Instagram and TikTok.

Twitter Does Sports

Elon Musk's new Twitter verified account system has confused sports fans as many "verified" fake accounts broke big news like a LeBron James trade (NBA - National Basketball Association) or the firing of the Las Vegas Raiders head coach (NFL - National Football League). HOT MESS

Short and Sweet

  • Gonzaga and Michigan State will play their basketball game on board the USS Abraham Lincoln in San Diego today, Veterans Day.

  • Brooklyn Nets (NBA) new head coach Jacque Vaughn doesn't care that he wasn't the team's first choice saying, "he might not have been his wife's first choice, but they've been together for 20 years."

  • Joseph Chahayed, the owner of a gas station in CA, was awarded a $1M prize for selling the winning $2B Powerball ticket. He is the father-in-law of former NFL player Domata Peko.

Before We Go

Washington, DC attorney general Karl Racine announced his office is filing suit against Washington Commanders (NFL) owner Dan Snyder, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Commanders and the NFL for "colluding to deceive the residents of DC" on their workplace climate. The charges stem from evidence of the Commanders underreporting ticket revenue to the NFL and withholding security deposit money from fans.

Ahead of this announcement, Snyder put the Commanders up for sale. Interested parties include Jeff Bezos, Jay-Z and Matthew McConaughey. The team could sell for upwards of $7B. THAT MAY PAY FOR THE LAWYER BILLS

9 To 5

Philadelphia is the center of the universe, NYC Marathon, your hype song in the hall of fame and this week's Tailgate Treat

Here's your friendly reminder: Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend, so enjoy that extra hour of sleep. Unless you have kids, then it's just an average Sunday.

Fall back,
The Last Night's Game Team

The CIty of Brotherly Love

What a time to be a Philadelphia sports fan. The Eagles (NFL - National Football League) are undefeated. Their Phillies play game six of the World Series tomorrow. They're behind in the series against the Houston Astros 3-2. To top it off, the Philadelphia Union are in the MLS Cup Final (Major League Soccer) on Saturday. They're playing LAFC (Los Angeles Football Club), which boasts Will Ferrell as an owner. CELEBRATE OVER CHEESESTEAKS

Short and Sweet

  • The artist behind every athlete's current or former hype song, Eminem, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tomorrow alongside Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Carly Simon, Pat Benatar, Lionel Richie and Eurythmics.

  • And then there were four. Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain and Christopher Bell will compete in NASCAR's (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) championship race on Sunday.

  • ESPN College GameDay and their guest picker Luke Bryan head to Georgia, the place to be this weekend for college football, where the undefeated team from Tennessee takes on No. 3 ranked Georgia.

  • They've had enough. The Brooklyn Nets (NBA - National Basketball Association) suspended Kyrie Irving for "no less than five games" for spreading antisemitic hate and refusing to apologize.

Before We Go

Sunday is the 51st running of the New York City Marathon. Over 50,000 runners will join celebrities Ashton Kutcher, Ellie Kemper, Amy Robach, T.J. Holmes and Matt James in hitting the streets for the iconic 26.2-mile race in unseasonably warm weather.

Did you know women were once barred from road races? Six women took their rightful place in the NYC Marathon in its third year. The AAU, the then-governing body of marathons, had previously squashed the idea of women running in marathons. It was considered a health risk for women to run distances as their uterus might fall out, along with other medical disasters. CAN'T KEEP A GOOD WOMAN DOWN

The World Is Your Oyster

It's World Series time, Tom Brady & Gisele announce their divorce and this week's Tailgate Treat

Football is here whether you like it or not. Yesterday was the first day of 27 consecutive football days, carrying us until November 22. What could you do in those 27 days? Learn the guitar? Break a bad habit? Tell us on Twitter.

Buckle up,
The Last Night's Game

It’s World Series Time

What do you get when you combine Miles Teller, the invention of the high five and cheating scandals? The World Series. The Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros will begin their quest for the World Series trophy tonight. It's the first time in 13 years that the Phillies have played in the best-of-seven-game series but the Astros have been here four of the last six years.

For more on the World Series, here are our 5 Things You Need To Know.

Short and Sweet

  • The Los Angeles Lakers (NBA - National Basketball Association) haven't won a game this season. It's the worst start for LeBron James since his rookie season.

  • ESPN "College Gameday" is heading to Jackson to highlight former NFL (National Football League) player turned head coach Deion "Primetime" Sanders, aka Coach Prime, and his undefeated Jackson State football team. This is the second time in the show's history that they will be doing their pregame show at an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities).

  • Tom Brady came out of retirement for this? Last night he lost his third game in a row for the first time in 20 years. In the loss to the Ravens, he also became the most-sacked quarterback in NFL (National Football League) history.

  • Catch this weekend's NFL conversation starter on Instagram or TikTok.

Before We Go

Women's soccer is headed to prime time. The Portland Thorns will play the Kansas City Current for the 2022 NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) Championship. Keep an eye out for Brittany and Patrick Mahomes in the stands. The Kansas City Chiefs (NFL) are off this weekend and surely we'll see Patrick in the stands supporting his wife, who is a team owner.

Alaska Air is giving VIP treatment to all Thorns fans, offering early boarding for any guest out of Portland wearing a Thorns jersey. The Thorns owner won't be in attendance at the game as he's being pressured to sell the team after an investigation uncovered a toxic environment in the league.

The game will air on CBS (the first time ever for the NWSL on prime time TV) and stream on Paramount+ on Saturday at 8 pm E.T.
