Kansas City was the place to be last night as the city hosted the first round of the NFL Draft. The Carolina Panthers selected Bryce Young, the Alabama quarterback, at No. 1 overall. The Houston Texans selected Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud at No. 2. The second round begins today. There are plenty of surprises ahead with two days left of the draft, including special guests from the military, TikTok sensation James Droz, and guests from the Make-A-Wish, Pat Tillman Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters. DREAMS DO COME TRUE

• A New Jersey town is fed up with argumentative and disrespectful parents at little league games. So it requires offending fans to volunteer as an umpire for three games.

• Ahead of the upcoming WNBA season beginning on May 19, Brittney Griner says she'll never play overseas again unless it's in the Olympics. 

• The XFL Playoffs are here. Watch for a beer snake when the DC Defenders take on the Seattle Sea Dragons. The Houston Roughnecks will play the Arlington Renegades in Houston. 

• LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne who has 11M followers on social media and is the highest-paid female collegiate athlete in the country, is making her debut in the new SI Swim issue.

After the Milwaukee Bucks unexpectedly exited the NBA (National Basketball Association) playoffs early, a reporter asked star player Giannis Antetokounmpo if he considered the season a failure. His response was brilliant. "It's not a failure. It's steps to success. There's always steps to it. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won six championships. The other nine years [were] a failure? That's what you're telling me?

His Bucks lost to the Miami Heat, who became the first play-in team to win a playoff series. The Heat are playing the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals starting on Sunday. The Knicks won their first playoff series in a decade, and New York is going wild. CRAZY TIMES

• Tiger Woods had fusion surgery on his right ankle to alleviate arthritis from a broken bone, which puts the rest of the golf season in question. 

• Poking the bear, Memphis Grizzlies Dillon Brooks (NBA) is attempting to get into LeBron James' head by calling him old, amongst other things. The playoff series between the Lakers and Grizzlies is tied. 

• Coach Prime (aka Deion Sanders) is already making his mark on his new school, the Colorado Buffaloes, which sold out their spring game with 45,000 fans planning to attend. The previous record spring record was 17,800 fans.

And just like that, another professional team has their eyes on the newest sports city, Las Vegas. The Oakland Athletics (MLB - Major League Baseball) have signed a binding agreement to purchase a plot of land near the Las Vegas Strip, which will be the site of their future ballpark. The A's stadium is one of the oldest in sports, opening in 1966. The A’s would be only the second MLB team to change cities in more than a half-century.Their departure will mark Oakland losing its third and final pro sports team in the last four years.  HEY BABY LET'S GO TO VEGAS

It appears the troubled Washington Commanders will be changing hands. Josh Harris, who owns the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA - National Basketball Association) and New Jersey Devils (NHL - National Hockey League) and is currently a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL), is the head of the winning group that includes NBA legend Magic Johnson. The $6.05B sales price is the highest in league history. 

Current owner Dan Snyder, who bought the team for $800M, remains the subject of an internal league investigation concerning allegations of workplace misconduct and potential unlawful financial conduct. The sale could be finalized at the Spring League Meeting in May. CHA-CHING

• The NBA Playoffs officially begin tomorrow and for the first time since statehood, all four California teams are in the playoffs. 

• Rumors are swirling that two of the biggest names in college NIL (Name Image Likeness), Haley and Hanna Cavinder, are skipping their fifth year of eligibility to join the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

• $1 hot dog night at the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB - Major League Baseball) game turned into a full-on food fight. 

• The Tampa Bay Rays (MLB) are starting off the season at a historic 13-0 pace.

Major League Baseball (MLB) will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day tomorrow. All players and coaches will wear all wear Robinson’s No. 42. The No. 42 is the only jersey number retired by all 30 teams. Robinson, who is regarded as the first Black MLB player, made his MLB debut on April 15, 1947. BATTER UP
