NBA (National Basketball Association)

  • Leaving it all on the floor. Boston Celtics’ Isiah Thomas channeled his inner hockey player, coming back to dominate the game after losing a tooth. Thomas helped his team win after returning to Boston at 4 am from attending the funeral of his sister who was killed in a car accident two weeks ago.

NFL (National Football League)

Mr. Irrelevant is the last man chosen in the draft – the 253rd pick. He’s considered irrelevant because the odds are against him to actually make the team.

F1 (Formula One)

  • Everyone remembers their first time. It was a big day in Russia yesterday but this has nothing to do with politics. Driver Valtteri Bottas, who started racing in 2013, brought home his first career win in Sochi, Russia. 

Overtime

  • The most heartwarming pick in the draft came from the Pittsburgh Steelers. They selected James Conner of the University of Pittsburgh in the third round. Conner came back after beating cancer to excel on the field in his senior college season.

NBA (National Basketball Association)

  • Back it up. Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors are up 3-0 in their playoff series vs. Portland Trail Blazers. Although the playoffs may have already swept Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr was unable to coach game three and will not coach game four (and may be out for the entire playoffs) due to chronic back pain which caused him to miss half of last season.
  • Sweep you off your feet. The Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Indiana Pacers to become the first team to advance to second round of the playoffs. This marks LeBron James’ record-breaking 10th sweep in a playoff series. Curious what’s happening in the playoffs? We have you covered.

NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing)

  • Rain delay. Just when you tried to impress your racing fan boss and watch yesterday’s NASCAR race from Bristol, it never happened. The race was postponed until today due to weather. You can catch it at 1 pm EST here.

Overtime

  • In the epic playoff battle between his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA), and the Houston Rockets, MVP candidate Russell Westbrook hasn’t let his reputation of fashion guru suffer. After yesterday’s loss, he continued to bring his A game at the postgame press conference. We’ll let you determine if his avant-garde outfit is on point or should be pointed toward the exit.

  • The Chicago Cubs won the World Series (MLB – Major League Baseball) last year and broke their championship curse. That win comes with a lot of new fans. Their rival, Cincinnati Reds, took advantage of that situation with the “Bandwagon Fan Cam,” displaying Cubs fans throughout the stadium. Bandwagon fans are fans who start to like a team only when they win. Convenient.

MLB (Major League Baseball)

  • His legend lives on. This Saturday and every April 15th MLB celebrates “Jackie Robinson Day.” Every year players and coaches on every team wear Robinson’s iconic #42 in honor of MLB's first African American player. The #42 is the only number to be retired by all MLB teams.
  • Somebunny’s funny. Hanley Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox took his Easter celebration to a whole new level, creating bunny whiskers out of his eye black for the game.

NBA (National Basketball Association)  

  • Tough loss. Boston Celtics player Isiah Thomas lost his sister in a car accident the day before his team's first game in the playoffs. It was an emotional start to the game for Thomas but he managed to pull it together and led his team in points. Despite his efforts, the Chicago Bulls (#8) upset his Celtics (#1) to take the series lead.

  • What to watch for. Just when you were finally getting over football season, it’s back again. Everyone in the sports world is teeming with excitement because the regular season NFL schedule will be released this week. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook for up-to-the-minute updates.

Overtime

  • In a playoff game this weekend, Columbus Blue Jackets Zach Werenski took a puck to the face. Once the bleeding stopped and even though he could barely see, he returned to the ice. Playoff hockey translates to an unbelievable amount of toughness and injuries that aren’t too flattering (see pic here).  Sadly, even Werenski’s determination couldn’t bring his team a win.

Sideline stat

  • This weekend Ohio State Buckeye super fan Jacob Jarvis, who is wheelchair bound from muscular dystrophy, had his dream come true. In a spring game in front of 82,000 Buckeye fans, Jarvis scored a touchdown to end the game. Simply awesome.

Coaches’ corner

  • Today is known as Patriot’s Day in Massachusetts, commemorating the battles of Lexington and Concord, which began of the American Revolutionary War. The day is marked by the running of the Boston Marathon and the Boston Red Sox (baseball) play an early game. The early game is so baseball fans can catch the end of the marathon after the game.
