Though Utah Jazz player Jordan Clarkson is in the middle of the NBA Playoffs (National Basketball Association), that doesn’t mean he’s lost touch with reality. After hearing the news that Filipino food truck Yum Yum was vandalized, he stepped up to pay for a re-wrap of their truck. As a Filipino American, Clarkson was especially outraged by the anti-Asian phrases spray-painted on the food truck. In a Tweet, Clarkson said:

“It hurt me deeply to see that Salt Lake’s @yumyumasian food truck was recently vandalized – I know the pain that hateful language and racism causes.”

The truck now has an impressive new wrap, and the owners are overcome with gratitude. Yum Yum food truck will hold its re-opening on Saturday, which happens to be Philippine Independence Day.

Now that Clarkson has helped this local business, he is ready to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals.
