Honor And Remember

Today we barbeque, hit the pool and hang out with friends, but we also remember those who gave their lives protecting our country.

Thank you for your service,
The Last Night's Game Team

MLB (major league baseball)

The San Francisco Giants are making headlines but not for what they're doing on the field. The manager of the Giants, Gabe Kapler, is vowing to stay off the field during the national anthem to protest the nation's current state after the shooting in Texas. Out of respect for the meaning of Memorial Day, he said he may join his team on the field today.

Then in a tale of a high fantasy football league gone wrong, Cincinnati Reds player Tommy Pham has been suspended for slapping Giants' Joc Pederson. Pederson read text messages to reporters about how he talked smack to Pham's teammates in their fantasy football group text but then apologized. SMDH (AKA SHAKING MY D*&M HEAD)

Short and Sweet

  • From F1 (Formula One) driver to Indy 500 winner, Marcus Ericsson celebrated his life-changing Indy 500 win yesterday with whole milk.

  • At the French Open (tennis), it's an all-American quarterfinal featuring 18-year-old Coco Gauff, Jess Pegula (daughter of the Buffalo Bills owner - NFL - National Football League), Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens.

  • The Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat to land a seat in the NBA (National Basketball Association) Finals against the Golden State Warriors, which start on Thursday.

  • Also at the French Open, due to some weird seeding, we will see two of the best, Rafael Nadal - No. 5 with 21 major wins, play Novak Djokovic - No. 1 with 20 major wins, in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Before We Go

The first capacity crowd Champions League Final (European soccer) since 2019 was marred by crowd issues that delayed the game by 37 minutes. The context of how it happened is still being investigated, but some fans were met with tear gas from police when trying to enter the stadium. Ultimately, the fans and celebrities in attendance like Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Rafael Nadal and LeBron James had a chance to see Real Madrid beat Liverpool for the illustrious title of Champions League winners. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
