Friends Forever

A Prince Harry marathon mishap, getting toasted in CO and no celebratory cocktail for you.

Go make a friend by drumming up a conversation using today’s hottest topics in sports.

You’ve got a friend in me,

The Last Night’s Game Team

London Marathon

Prince Harry is on baby watch but that didn’t stop him from cheering on one London runner who ran the London Marathon dressed like the iconic clock Big Ben. The runner was attempting to break the world record for the fastest marathon run by someone dressed as a landmark building but it didn’t work out quite as planned. ‘Big Ben’ didn’t plan for the clearance of the finish line and got stuck. WHERE TIME STANDS STILL

Overtime

Meet Toasty, the new s’mores themed mascot for the minor league baseball team, the Rocky Mountain Vibes. The team was formerly known as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox but it’s not the name change (or the fact that Toasty could be an ode to marijuana) that’s getting the attention. It’s the fact that Toasty looks exactly like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” host Guy Fieri. DESSERT DOPPLEGÄNGER

Sideline Stat

They’re young enough to make history but not to buy a cocktail. Three Washington Nationals (MLB – Major League Baseball) teammates made history last night as the first trio of teammates who are 21 or younger to homer in the same game. A CELEBRATORY ROUND ON ME. OH WAIT…

Coaches’ corner

Last night, Jaylen Brown and his Boston Celtics won their first game in the second round of the NBA (National Basketball Association) playoffs. His on court success has proved his haters wrong, including a former teacher who told him that she’d “look him up in the Cobb County jail in five years.” Brown shared that statement in a tweet exactly five years ago and look at him now. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

When Nature Calls

You had one job, Tiger’s ridiculous look and tempers (and creativity) flare in the playoffs.

Saving you and the world from awkward conversations.

Intergalactic planetary,

The Last Night’s Game Team

Ps – Today is Earth Day so reduce, reuse, recycle and go vegan. That’s what one team is doing for Mother Earth. Read that and more in our five sports teams that are saving the planet.

NBA (National Basketball Association)

In one of the most entertaining playoff series in recent history, the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers are quite literally putting up a fight. Of course, they’ve been talking trash but there have been fights, ejections, wanted posters and one angry team general manager storming the referees’ locker room. (The 76ers lead the first round playoff series 3-1). PISSED OFF AND PASSIONATE

Overtime

From the ‘you had one job' file. While the Boston Celtics (NBA) were about the sweep the Indiana Pacers, eliminating them from the playoffs, ABC switched the broadcast over to “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” EITHER WAY IT WAS LAUGHABLE

Serena Williams is putting her money where her mouth is. On Instagram, she revealed the details of her investment firm, Serena Ventures. She focuses on "early-stage investments in companies led by women and people of color and those that value 'individual empowerment' and creativity." RAISE ‘EM UP

Coaches’ corner

When a player wins the Masters (golf), they can wear the iconic green jacket anywhere for one year. (After one year they can only wear the jacket on the grounds of Augusta National Golf Club). Tiger Woods took advantage of this perk and wore his new favorite green accessory with basketball shorts and white tennis shoes to his restaurant. BUSINESS ON TOP, GYM RAT IN THE BACK

He’s Grrrreat!

How sports books lost their butts with Tiger’s win, the Boston Marathon is today and fireworks in San Fran.

It’s the comeback everyone is talking about. And no, we don’t mean the fact that it’s Monday again.

It’s so much better than that,

The Last Night’s Game Team

PGA (Professional Golfers Association)

Until recently, no one would’ve ever thought of Tiger Woods as an underdog. But after some distractions in his personal life and back problems that left him unable to walk, he was not even close to being the favorite to win at the Masters. Then he went and proved them all wrong. Tiger showed why he still deserves to be at the top by winning the Masters yesterday. This was his fifth Masters win and first since 2005. TIGER FOR THE WIN

Overtime

The Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants (MLB – Major League Baseball) played an 18-inning game on Friday night, the equivalent of two games in one. The Giants promised Friday night fireworks so when the game was over (the Giants won), they proceeded with their fireworks show. The only problem is that it was after 1 am. Needless to say, their neighbors were fired up. DARE YOU TO CALL THE COPS

Overshadowed by the star power and success of his own team, the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry, 31, set the record for three-pointers made in the NBA (National Basketball Association) postseason. (The playoffs started on Saturday and the Warriors are again the favorite to win it all). NBD JUST SETTING RECORDS OVER HERE

Coaches’ corner

With his win, Tiger became the second oldest golfer to win the Masters. Nike celebrated by dropping an incredible commercial directly after his win. Not celebrating? The sports books. Because he was such an underdog, online betting company FanDuel said his win cost them over $2 million.  An executive with William Hill (another online sports betting company) summed it up perfectly by saying, “It’s great to see Tiger back. It’s a painful day for William Hill – our biggest golf loss ever – but a great day for golf.” WIN SOME, LOSE A LOT

What to watch

The Boston Marathon is today. Keep an eye on seven-time NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) champion Jimmie Johnson who will be pounding the pavement in today’s race. IF YOU’RE NOT FIRST, YOU’RE LAST
