Looks Like We Made It

Be prepared for the unofficial start of summer.

It’s the unofficial start of summer.

Prepared for poolside chatter,

The Last Night’s Game Team

NBA (National Basketball Association)

Rapper Drake has become the center of attention in the Milwaukee Bucks – Toronto Raptors playoff series. The Canadian is a big Raptors fan and therefore a local Milwaukee radio station is taking a break from playing his music during the series. A Canadian radio station fired back by refusing to play Steve Miller Band music. (Raptors lead the 7-game series 3-2, with game 6 tomorrow). TIT FOR TAT

Overtime

The rich and famous and their super yachts come out for the most beautiful race on the F1 (Formula One) circuit. Keep an eye out for names like soccer’s Ronaldo and football’s Tom Brady at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. The usually festive weekend will have a bit of a sober tone with the passing of former F1 driver and team owner Niki Lauda. The movie “Rush” was based on Lauda, who was severely burned in a crash during a race. CHEERS TO THE LIFE OF A LEGEND

Sideline Stat

The picks are in for Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. All the drivers in the race have to submit their choice for their victory drink, should they win. But they’re not picking champagne, but their selection of celebratory milk - whole, 2% or fat free. It’s a tradition that the winner of the Indy 500 chug milk after their win. Check out our Five Things You Need To Know About The Indy 500 here. WHAT NO ALMOND MILK?

Coaches’ Corner

A Southern California minor league baseball team is changing their name to the California Burritos. For one night only, the San Bernardino’s Inland Empire 66ers, are changing their name. Their uniforms will include some “drive-thru” language and a new California state shaped burrito logo. BURRITO BALL

What to Watch

Sunday is the fastest day in sports. The day will start with the F1 race in Monaco, then move to the Indy 500 and finish with NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) Coca-Cola 600.

Festive Friday

Mullets, knighthood and porta potty races - what more could you ask for?

Because there’s never a dull moment in sports.

Celebrating the weekend,

The Last Night’s Game Team

NFL (National Football League)

Quarterback Matt Barkley is a trendsetter but not for his style. He requested his professional football salary be paid in Bitcoin. Shockingly, the answer was no. DOES NOT COMPUTE

Overtime

Candy will fall from the sky at the Altoona (pronounced al-tuna) Curve (Minor League Baseball) game on Sunday in Altoona, Pa. After the game, a helicopter will drop "hundreds of pounds of candy" on the stadium. DREAMS DO COME TRUE

Sideline Stat

The NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) All-Star race is on Saturday with $1 million on the line. It’s not too late for drivers to get in but at this point in the game, the only way to get in is by fan vote. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., recognizes this short timeline and has promised to grow a mullet if fans vote him in. Voting ends today at noon EST. Also keep an eye out for Kevin Harvick’s millennial car in Saturday’s race. FAST AF

Coaches’ corner

You may remember British tennis player Andy Murray for his dominating play on the court or his unfortunate unveiling of his twig and berries. He now has an even more memorable career accomplishment, becoming a knight. Sir Andy received the honor yesterday at Buckingham Palace. Although he has been plagued by injury and it’s uncertain whether or not he’ll return to the courts. WIELDING A SWORD

What to watch

Since there will be no horse competing for the Triple Crown in this weekend’s Preakness, tune in for the porta potty races. Yes, willing fans (we didn’t say sober) sprint across the top of temporary bathrooms in an effort to win the race. IT RARELY ENDS WELL, BUT IT’S DARN FUNNY

This One Goes Out To All The Ladies

Beckham breaks the law, a non-sports fan's worst nightmare and Lakers fans are pissed.

A good chat with mom on Mother’s Day (or any day) is exactly what she wants.

Giving you a little something extra to talk about,

The Last Night’s Game Team

MLB (Major League Baseball)

Real men wear pink and that applies to all MLB games on Sunday. In honor of Mother’s Day, players will use pink bats and wear pink uniforms. The pink is all part of the annual initiative, "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer.” MOMS ROCK

Overtime

Yesterday was an especially rough day for the White House Communications Department. Their lack of sports knowledge was put on full display to the world. They announced that President Trump was welcoming the Boston Red Socks, MLB World Cup Series Champions. Turns out they’re actually the Boston Red Sox that won the World Series, not the World Cup Series. Nothing a little Google search couldn’t have fixed. AND JUST LIKE THAT THE LNG TEAM IS ON A PLANE TO D.C.

Sideline stat

What does one do when cruising the streets of London in a Bentley? Send text messages, of course. That ill-advised (and slightly illegal) move landed global soccer heartthrob David Beckham enough points on his driving record to lose his privileges behind the wheel for six months. POSH SPICE IS NOT A CHAUFFEUR

Coaches’ corner

Hollywood knows how to do drama, so you wouldn’t expect behind the scenes of the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) to be any different. You may remember Magic Johnson quit the front office and then they parted ways with their head coach. Now they can’t find a new coach to save their lives. Fans have had enough and are planning a protest today. CAN’T LEBRON JUST DO IT ALL?

What to watch

Will he or won’t he? Rumors are swirling that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (NFL - National Football League) has a cameo in Sunday’s “Game of Thrones” episode. No word if his girlfriend Danica Patrick will be tuning in. WE’LL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH
