Shake Your Bon Bon

Clever doesn’t always equal smarter, the call heard around the world and we finally know the best athlete name ever.

Start your Monday off right you mover and shaker.

Make it happen,

The Last Night’s Game Team

MLB (Major League Baseball)

The San Diego Padres paid a tribute to moms everywhere by changing their twitter handle to “Madres” (meaning mother in Spanish). It was a clever move but someone forgot that when you change your Twitter handle, your old one is up for grabs. The guy who picked up @Padres for a few hours replied to fans tweets and even gave out some game tickets. TOO SMART FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

Overtime

Fresh off of Mother’s Day, here’s a gift that no mother actually wants - both of her boys playing against each other with a title on the line. Sonya and Dell Curry are planning to flip a coin to choose the parent who wears which team’s gear as their sons Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Seth Curry of the Portland Trail Blazers, meet up in the NBA Western Conference Finals (National Basketball Association) starting Tuesday. (Oh and their dad played in the NBA too). SIBLING RIVALRY ON THE BIG STAGE

Sideline stat

Infinite Tucker not only went the extra mile to win his race, but he won the award for the best athlete name ever. Tucker, and yes Infinite Tucker is his real name, dove across the finish line to edge out his Texas A&M teammate to win the 400m hurdles in this weekend’s SEC (Southeastern Conference) Track & Field Championships. INFINITE POSSIBILITIES

Coaches’ corner

The Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers kept us on the edge of our seats until the very end of their do-or-die game in the NBA playoffs. In the last second, Kawhi Leonard made an unbelievable shot to win the game. It’s the shot heard around the world as evident by the excitement of TV announcers across the globe. SO MUCH EXCITEMENT FOR A MONDAY MORNING

What to watch

Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman (NFL – National Football League) pulled off quite the surprise this weekend. He called his parents on Friday to tell them that he was finally getting his college degree, 10 years later. They watched him walk in the Kent State graduation ceremony this weekend. EDUCATION IS THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

Hold Your Horses

The Derby debacle, Tiger receives the nation’s highest honor and Derby fashion.

Making Monday small talk easy.

That’s the way we like it,

The Last Night’s Game Team

Golf

Woods will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom today from his golf buddy, President Trump. The award, which the nation’s highest civilian honor, is being bestowed upon the golfer after his decade-long comeback to win this year’s Masters. No word if he’s going to wear the iconic green jacket. FREEDOM FASHION

Overtime

It was one wet and sloppy race at the Kentucky Derby but that didn’t stop celebrities and athletes alike from walking the red carpet donning some serious Derby-inspired fashion. VOGUE

Sideline stat

For the first time in Derby history, the horse that crossed the finish line first did not win the Derby. Maximum Security originally finished first but after a lengthy debate, he was disqualified for a violation on the track. The eventual winner, Country House, started the race with 65-1 odds to win (meaning if you bet $1, you’d win $65), making him the 2nd-longest shot to win the Kentucky Derby in the history of the race. AMERICA LOVES THE UNDERDOG

The owner of Maximum Security is appealing the decision today. Keep up with us on Twitter for updates.

Coaches’ corner

You might remember the Carolina Hurricanes’ (NHL – National Hockey League) regular season postgame skits. Broadcaster Don Cherry, who is known for his absolutely hideous jackets and ties, didn’t like the stunts one bit, calling the team “a buncha jerks.” Now that the team has been killing it in the playoffs, their attendance numbers are up. Cherry has been referring to the new fan base as “front-running fans,” saying they’re jumping on the bandwagon. GRUMPY OLD MEN ON ICE

What to watch

Just 18 months after suffering a serious spinal injury on the field, Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL – National Football League) linebacker Ryan Shazier danced at his wedding. You’d never know he was told he’d never walk again. MONDAY MOTIVATION

Friends Forever

A Prince Harry marathon mishap, getting toasted in CO and no celebratory cocktail for you.

Go make a friend by drumming up a conversation using today’s hottest topics in sports.

You’ve got a friend in me,

The Last Night’s Game Team

London Marathon

Prince Harry is on baby watch but that didn’t stop him from cheering on one London runner who ran the London Marathon dressed like the iconic clock Big Ben. The runner was attempting to break the world record for the fastest marathon run by someone dressed as a landmark building but it didn’t work out quite as planned. ‘Big Ben’ didn’t plan for the clearance of the finish line and got stuck. WHERE TIME STANDS STILL

Overtime

Meet Toasty, the new s’mores themed mascot for the minor league baseball team, the Rocky Mountain Vibes. The team was formerly known as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox but it’s not the name change (or the fact that Toasty could be an ode to marijuana) that’s getting the attention. It’s the fact that Toasty looks exactly like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” host Guy Fieri. DESSERT DOPPLEGÄNGER

Sideline Stat

They’re young enough to make history but not to buy a cocktail. Three Washington Nationals (MLB – Major League Baseball) teammates made history last night as the first trio of teammates who are 21 or younger to homer in the same game. A CELEBRATORY ROUND ON ME. OH WAIT…

Coaches’ corner

Last night, Jaylen Brown and his Boston Celtics won their first game in the second round of the NBA (National Basketball Association) playoffs. His on court success has proved his haters wrong, including a former teacher who told him that she’d “look him up in the Cobb County jail in five years.” Brown shared that statement in a tweet exactly five years ago and look at him now. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
