Honey Deuce

The official cocktail for the U.S. Open for nearly two decades

Photo: Instagram/brookessunshine

It only makes sense that the hottest tennis tournament in the US boasts this refreshing pink drink as its cocktail of choice. The price increased to $23 per drink this year, so enjoy the at-home version for less.

Ps: The name is a play on the tie score of 40-40 known in tennis as "deuce."

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 oz. Grey Goose vodka

  • 3 oz. Fresh squeezed lemonade

  • 1/2 oz. Chambord or premium raspberry liqueur

  • Crushed ice

  • Frozen honeydew melon balls for garnish

Instructions

1. Fill a chilled highball glass with ice and add Grey Goose vodka.

2. Top with lemonade and then add Chambord.

3. Garnish with a skewer of honeydew melon balls (note: place honeydew melon in the freezer beforehand. Then, to create melon balls, use a melon baller).

Prosecco Grapes

Marrying two favorite traditions for an extra dose of good luck in 2025.

In Spain, the tradition of eating 12 grapes in 12 seconds, brings you good luck for the 12 months ahead. This recipe combines the Spanish tradition with the American tradition of a champagne toast.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. green grapes

  • 1 (750-ml) bottle prosecco

  • 4 oz. vodka

  • 1/2 c. sugar

  1. Wash and dry grapes

  2. Place the grapes in a bowl and pour in the prosecco and vodka. Store in the fridge. Allow them to soak for at least an hour.

  3. Drain the grapes and place them on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the sugar over the top to coat.

  4. Serve

Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken Soup

Your new, easy go-to.

Photo: Paleo MG

Highly recommended and the soon to be the most requested meal in your house.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon ghee

  • 2 cup diced carrots

  • 2 cup diced celery

  • 1 white onion, minced

  • 6 garlic cloves, minced

  • 8 cup cauliflower florets (I used a frozen bag of cauliflower that was defrosted – it cooks quicker and a little better)

  • 64-ounce chicken bone broth

  • 1 1/3 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (less if you don’t like it as spicy)

  • salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 rotisserie chicken, pulled and shredded

  • fresh cilantro, for garnish

  • chopped green onions, for garnish

  • Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Ranch, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place ghee in the basin of the instant pot then press the sauté button. Once the ghee begins to melt, add the carrots, celery, onion and garlic and sauté for about 5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.

  2. Press the keep warm/cancel button, add the cauliflower, chicken broth, hot sauce and a hefty pinch of both salt and pepper, then secure the lid, close off the pressure valve and press the Soup button. This will cook for 30 minutes once it comes up to pressure. Once the soup is done cooking, you can let it naturally release or do a quick release. Once you remove the lid, use an immersion blender to blend the soup until completely smooth. Taste to see if the soup needs any extra salt or pepper.

The recipe is courtesy of Paleo MG. We’re not trying to claim we came up with it. We’re simply sharing her good work. There are great tips, including how to make a giant batch on the original recipe if you’d like to check that out.
