It's a beautiful day when Friday and Earth Day coincide.
Take the time to smell the roses,
The Last Night's Game Team
Let’s buy a soccer team
Serena Williams (tennis) and Lewis Hamilton (Formula One) join the ownership group attempting to buy Premier League Team, Chelsea (soccer). Both athletes pledged $13 million toward purchasing the team by a group of investors led by former Liverpool (soccer) chairman Martin Broughton. Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich is selling the team after British government sanctions imposed on him following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Williams is no stranger to professional sports team ownership. She and her daughter Olympia are part of the ownership group that owns Los Angeles' Angel City FC, an NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) team. FOR SALE
PS: These athletes also own professional sports teams.
Short and Sweet
The Detroit Red Wings (NHL - National Hockey League) fired their longtime Zamboni driver for urinating in a drain.
Boxer Mike Tyson beats the crap out of a fellow JetBlue passenger.
Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid trash-talks Drake as his Toronto Raptors struggle in the playoffs.
Police say Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL - National Football League) quarterback Dwayne Haskins was searching for gas when he was hit by two vehicles and killed on a Florida highway earlier this month.
Before We Go
Drug sniffing dogs searching for cocaine will be in full force on Saturday at Wembley Stadium in England for the heavyweight championship boxing match between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte. With 94,000 fans expected to be in attendance, police are stepping up their game after drug and drink fueled violence broke out at a previous event.
Fury, known for belting out "Sweet Caroline" at karaoke night, is the favorite in the matchup.
TAILGATE TREAT
Just because it's vegan (it is Earth Day, after all) doesn't mean it can't be delicious. SO GOOD, SO GOOD
