Pave the way for the new guard. Controversial Atlanta Dream owner Kelly Loeffler is out as an owner of the team, and an ownership group featuring former Dream player Renee Montgomery is in. Montgomery is the first former WNBA player to be an owner of a team. Loeffler previously served as a Republican Senator in the Georgia Senate. By now, you’ve heard that longtime Bachelor host Chris Harrison is stepping aside after controversial comments. Stepping in for him during the “After the Final Rose” episode is former NFL player (National Football League), broadcaster, author and host of the YouTube sensation “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man,” Emmanuel Acho. The love triangle between Shailene Woodley, Jodie Foster and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (NFL) continues. Last night during the Golden Globe Awards, Foster thanked Rodgers during her Best Supporting Actress acceptance speech for her performance in "The Mauritanian." This is her third Golden Globe Award. A few weeks ago, Rodgers thanked Foster in his acceptance speech for his league MVP award. (It was also the same speech he revealed that he was engaged). So why did Foster return the favor? She's a huge Packers fan. Rodgers' fiancée stars alongside Foster in "The Mauritanian." SO MUCH LOVE

Well, he decided to go after one of the world’s most popular athletes, LeBron James. Ibrahimovic criticized James for his social justice efforts. James, who founded the iPromise School, responded by saying, "I would never shut up about things that are wrong…There’s no way I would ever just stick to sports, because I understand how powerful this platform and my voice is." We don’t want to jinx it but after a season of highs and lows, it looks like we will be able to crown a college football champion. We now know that Alabama (No. 1) will take on Notre Dame (No. 4) and Clemson (No. 2) will face off against Ohio State (No. 3) on January 1 in the playoffs. ‘Bama and the Irish were supposed to play in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena but due to California’s COVID regulations that prohibit fans from attending, the game has been moved to AT&T Stadium in Dallas. It’s been a rough year for Vanessa Bryant who lost her husband, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, and her daughter Gianna in a helicopter accident in January. Now her mom is suing her claiming that she, Sofia Laine, was an unpaid “longtime personal assistant and nanny” and that Kobe “promised to take care of” her “for the rest of her life.” Laine is seeking back pay for all of the hours she’s worked over the years helping out and taking care of her grandchildren at the rate of $96/hour. In addition she is seeking “$5 million, a house and a Mercedes SUV.” In a statement to Us Weekly, Bryant said that Laine “has spiraled out of control” and is “continuing to try and find ways to extort a financial windfall from our family.” AND YOU THOUGHT YOUR HOLIDAYS WERE CONTENTIOUS

The New York Jets (National Football League) secured their first win of the season but it was bad news for the team. Why? With the win, they lost their grip on the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft which would presumably be used on Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence. In other shocking NFL news, for the first time in 11 years, the New England Patriots will miss out on the playoffs. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR

Tiger and Charlie Woods had fans swooning while playing together at the PNC Championship (golf). While the father and son combo didn’t win, their twinning was a win in our book with the matching fist pumps to their traditional “Sunday Red.” Charlie is the youngest player to every play in the tournament. What to watch
College Football Bowl Season starts today. There aren’t nearly as many games as usual with games being cancelled and teams dropping out but regardless, there’s plenty of football to watch during “The Bachelorette” commercial breaks. (Don’t forget to set your brackets)! SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Arguably the biggest sporting event of the weekend, Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. brought the star power and the entertainment value. But the boxing…maybe not so much. The 16-minute fight between the two 50+-year-olds was dominated by Tyson but the judges ruled it a draw at the end. Tyson was very chill in the post-fight interview and later we found out why. Tyson admitted he smoked weed before the fight. IN THE AIR TONIGHT

Women everywhere rejoiced when Sarah Fuller stepped foot on the football field for Vanderbilt on Saturday. Fuller became the first woman to play in a Power Five college football game. (The Power Five conferences are the biggest, highest-powered conferences in college football). Praises from legends Billie Jean King and Sue Bird were just a few of the messages of support and excitement that flooded social media. IN IT TO WIN IT
In other progressive news, Callie Brownson, the chief of staff for the Cleveland Browns (NFL - National Football League), stepped into an interim role and into the history books yesterday. She became the first woman to coach an NFL position group during a regular-season game. She filled the role as the tight end coach because TEs coach Drew Petzing did not travel with the team for Sunday's game due to the birth of his first child Saturday morning. CONGRATS ALL AROUND

The San Francisco 49ers (NFL) are homeless after a new COVID ban by Santa Clara County (the county the stadium is located in) that bans all contact sports for three weeks – including professional football. The team found out about the ban the same way the rest of us did – via a news conference. Luckily, they were on their way to play in Los Angeles but the ban doesn’t bode well for the team who will need to find another location – tentatively Arizona – to practice and play. The scariest moment of the weekend was a crash in the F1 (Formula One) race in Bahrain. Driver Roman Grosjean somehow walked away from a crash that split his car in two. Like something out of an action movie, Grosjean jumped out of his fireball of a car while being sprayed by a crew armed with fire extinguishers. TOO HOT TO HANDLE
