Never A Dull Moment
The Super Bowl halftime performers announced, Tom Brady’s dad has dad jokes and the NBA is 90% vaccinated so why the controversy?
Giving you something else to talk about besides how it’s still too hot to drink pumpkin spice lattes.

NFL (National Football League)
This season's Super Bowl halftime show is a millennial's dream come true. Yesterday, the NFL announced that Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar would headline the halftime show during Super Bowl LVI on February 13 at SoFi Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers. MF'ERS DID NOT FORGET ABOUT DRE

The Phoenix Mercury (WNBA - Women's National Basketball Association) are getting kicked out of their house ahead of Sunday's game three in their playoff series against the Las Vegas Aces. Last week the team was forced to seek another place to play because of a concert. The team has is forced out because the arena is hosting Disney On Ice instead. Surely, Minnie disapproves of sending six all-stars to play a professional league playoff game at a university basketball arena. HOW ABOUT A LITTLE RESPECT?

You’ve read the headlines about the drama surrounding the NBA’s (National Basketball Association) goal to get the entire league vaccinated. Players like LeBron James got it, and others like Kyrie Irving don’t want it. Irving is in an interesting conundrum as players who play on teams based in San Francisco (Golden State Warriors), and New York (Nets and Knicks) must be vaccinated to play in their home arenas. Visiting teams are exempt. The NBA said they will not pay players for missed games if they “elect not to comply with local vaccination mandates.” The NBA said that more than 90% of its players had received the COVID vaccine. ARMED FOR BATTLE
*For reference, the WNBA is 99% vaccinated and the NFL is 93%.
Coaches’ corner
Tom Brady heads back to his old stomping grounds on Sunday when his defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) take on former head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Brady has played down his return, especially after his dad's comments that he thought Tom felt "vindicated," leaving the Patriots and winning a Super Bowl with the Bucs. Brady's comedic response to his dad's comments included how his dad should know better at this point in his life, and Tom Jr. reserves the right to put him in a home against his will. Things are getting exciting as we head into the last weekend of the MLB (Major League Baseball) regular season. There are four teams within one game of the American League Wild Card playoff spot - the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays. BATTER UP
That's What I Want
It's not all sunshine and roses for Ronaldo, coach buys beer to fill the stands and the hire that makes us happy.
Who is ready for the weekend?

SOCCER
Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Manchester United seemed all sunshine and roses, thanks to Instagram. But behind the scenes proves otherwise. After only three weeks, the Ronaldo family moved into a new mansion because the local sheep kept them awake. And it turns out he's having a more significant impact on his team than thought. Ronaldo is such a health nut that his teammates are afraid to eat dessert in front of him at team meals. GUESS THEY'RE NOT GOING FOR SECONDS EITHER?

The Milwaukee Bucks (NBA - National Basketball Association) have made a historic hire. The defending NBA champions named Lisa Byington as their new play-by-play TV announcer. This hire makes Byington the first woman to serve as a full-time TV play-by-play announcer for a major men's professional sports team. LOVE TO HEAR IT

It's been a rough go for live sports TV ratings over the past year or so, but it seems like the NFL (National Football League) is headed in the right direction. They saw a seven percent increase in viewers in their opening week over last season. Those 17.4 million viewers remain the highest viewership numbers since 2017. MOVING ON UP
COACHES' CORNER
Portland State football hasn't had a win yet this season, but their head coach devised a plan to fill the stands despite the rough start to the season. Bruce Barnum offered to buy "all the beers" for fans who drop his name at the beer garden in the stadium. This offer seems like a great deal since tickets to the game start at $10. A painful scoreboard message, the girl who is showing the little league boys how it’s done and the White House’s house guests.
Every week we hear your testimonials of how Last Night’s Game helped you connect on a first date or close a sale at work, and we couldn’t be more proud of you, our fantastic and talented readers.

Little League World Series
Baseball players might be known as ‘Boys of Summer,’ but don’t tell that to Ella Bruning. She’s the only girl playing in the Little League World Series. The starting catcher for her Abilene, Texas team was an integral part of her team’s first LLWS win over the weekend. Bruning is the 20th girl to play at the LLWS in its history. You can catch her team play today at 1 pm ET on ESPN. SHOW THEM HOW IT’S DONE

And we thought Carrie Bradshaw getting dumped via Post-It note was rough. A minor league baseball game fan took it a step further, breaking up with his lady via scoreboard message. Those messages are usually reserved for well wishes and professions of love, but instead, it read, “Alyssa, this relationship is OVER. – Tim” Maybe it’s a stunt by the team, but that goes down as being more embarrassing than an actual scoreboard proposal. We’ve all wanted to run from the office, and this racehorse is living our dreams. In her first-ever race, the horse, aptly named Bold and Bossy, broke loose on her way to the starting gate and then led both the sheriff and police departments along with a group of trainers on a 30-minute chase down a highway. PEACE OUT
What to watch
Things got a little (okay, a lot) out of control at the Nice-Marseille soccer game after a fan threw a bottle at a player. The player threw it back at the fan. After that, fans poured out of the stands and fought with players and opposing players were fighting each other. To say it was total chaos is an understatement. MORE ZEN PLEASE
