Here We Go
The Super Bowl is set, why 40 seconds isn’t long enough and who was riding dirty?
The Super Bowl is set. Get your game face on.
Let’s go Monday,

NFL (National Football League)
Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira aren’t the only ones heading to the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs and Jimmy Garoppolo and his San Francisco 49ers will be joining them. While the Chiefs celebrated their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1970, the 49ers celebrated by wearing shirts featuring their quarterback in his underwear. (Because why not)?
According to Vegas odds, the Chiefs are the slight favorites to win the game. Super Bowl 54 will take place in Miami on February 2. We'll have more big game insight leading up to it. BUT WILL THERE BE SNACKS?
Overtime
Somehow Rob Lowe became the most interesting part of the 49ers - Packers game. He was likely in the stands to promote his new TV show that aired after the game on the same network. But it was his hat, not his show, that sent the internet into a frenzy. MUST TRY TO BLEND IN

Conor McGregor stepped back into the octagon Saturday night looking for his first win since 2016. His UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) fight against the all-time wins leader Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone wasn’t at all what anyone expected. McGregor took him out in 40 seconds. Be glad you didn’t pay for it on Pay-Per-View. END OF STORY
Coaches’ corner
NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) driver Kyle Larson has had a pretty decorated racing career including a win at Daytona. But his greatest victory, according to him, was this weekend at the Chili Bowl in Tulsa where he finally won the illusive dirt track title. He’s proof that you should try and try again - it was his 13th time driving in this dirt-race event. The NASCAR season starts with the Daytona 500 on February 16. RIDIN’ DIRTY
What to watch
The tennis season began yesterday (U.S. time) with the Australian Open. The tournament down under is the first major of the season (aka a Grand Slam Tournament). The Grand Slam schedule includes the four most important tournaments of the season - the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open. LOTS OF LOVE FOR AUSTRALIA + TENNIS
Making It Happen Monday
It’s Monday and there’s no time like the present to use your newfound sports knowledge to make a connection in conversation.

NBA (National Basketball Association)
Don’t let them count you out. It all came down to game seven for the Indiana Pacers and LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers. King James lived up to his name and led his Cavs to a victory over the Pacers. The Cavs are heading into round two of the playoffs - one step closer to making it back to the finals. ROUND TWO SCHEDULE
NFL (National Football League)
When you’re making money and dreams come true. The NFL draft fulfilled the lifelong dreams of many football players and dashed the dreams of others. Either way, the draft was a dream come true for the networks because this year’s draft was the highest rated and most viewed draft in history. Forget hopes and dreams, the TV networks are happy and isn’t that really all that matters? BY THE NUMBERS
Overtime
Performance anxiety is real, even for animals. Some of the biggest hype around the NFL draft was Zsa Zsa the parrot, scheduled to deliver the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pick. Well, when the time came the feathered friend succumbed to the pressure and couldn’t make the call. Weird, that’s never happened before. VIDEO

The most talked about pick from the weekend’s NFL draft is pick #141, Shaquem Griffin. Griffin had his hand amputated as a child but can now say he’s the first player with only one hand to be drafted in the NFL's modern era. Even better? He joins his twin brother Shaquill as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. WATCH THE HEARTWARMING MOMENT
Coaches’ corner
When life gives you a dead catfish, drink beer out of it. That’s what Tennessee Titans’ (NFL) Taylor Lewan did to support his fellow Nashville team in the playoffs. The Nashville Predators (NHL – National Hockey League) ended up beating the Winnipeg Jets in double overtime last night. The team was undoubtedly inspired by this stinky stunt or maybe it was Carrie Underwood’s rendition of the anthem? (Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher came back from retirement this season to regain his spot with the Predators). PROOF OF FISH BEER BONG

When there's no place like home. We’re in week two of the NFL playoffs with games on Saturday and Sunday. The temperature isn’t the only thing that’s dropping in Minnesota this weekend. The Minnesota Vikings are hoping to break the streak of no team ever playing a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Dropping the New Orleans Saints this weekend is their first step toward that goal. PLAYOFF SCHEDULE
NBA (National Basketball Association)
When you act like you don’t have a favorite child but you really do. It’s all-star voting time in the NBA and Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors) and LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) have taken the lead as the top vote getters for their conference. Don’t like them at the top? You can still cast your ballot. Voting ends on January 18th. VOTE
Overtime
Indy car drivers Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly are on this season of The Amazing Race. If that’s not impressive enough, they had to dress like French fries as part of one of the challenges. Would you like fries with that? PIC
Sideline stat
The NFL playoff game between the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans features the largest age gap in NFL playoff history between the starting quarterbacks. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 40 and his Titans counterpart Marcus Mariota is 24.

The newest team in the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights, have been impressive on the ice and now their legal team is joining the ranks. The Army filed opposition to the team’s trademark application saying that the name and colors are too close to their Golden Knights parachute team. The team’s response was classic with one line stating, “we are not aware of a single complaint from anyone attending our games that they were expecting to see the parachute team and not a professional hockey game.” FULL STATEMENT
